We bought this product 4 months ago and just now started using it. It works great! Until one night my husband put our daughter to bed and we went back to our room and turned on the monitor and our baby wasn't in her crib. We ran back to her room to find her fast asleep. Then we realized that wasn't her crib on the monitor. We were picking up a clear picture and not to mention sound from 7 houses down. This is very scary, you don't know who could be watching your child sleep and hear what you say. If you have purchased this product call summer infant, they replaced my monitor with one that is digital....which means it's private.Customer Review: Static & Interference

I am not impressed with this product. I bought it after all the positive reviews, and because of the dual camera feature. Unfortunately, I get no reception at all on channel B, and on channel A the audio is so staticky, even in good reception that we'd never be able to sleep. By the time we get the handheld to our bedroom, the picture is extremely snowy and only works if carefully positioned in one spot.Customer Review: Awesome!

This monitor has worked great for us. We orginally purchased a non video monitor but when our baby appeared to need to cry it out we upgraded. We have never had a problem with reception (other than when you come near a cordless phone in use) and can always see her very well..even at night. We esp love being able to just unplug it and carry the monitor all around and TURN THE SOUND OFF!! With a click of a button we can see her but don't have to hear her. We turn the volume up at night but the rest of the evening is peaceful for us now..no annoying non stop static! If you are an anxious parent this is great. We can check on her without even having to go in. That also helps your baby learn to sleep ON THEIR OWN with no help from you.
I say get it...you won't be sorry!!

We have twins and have two monitors. Originally we bought the new monitor with the widescreen color display but we soon discovered that the sound is what we use 90% of the time. We really only turn the screen on when we hear the babies fussing, then we want to see what they are doing. We bought a second unit similar to the small screen monitor with the intention of having two handhelds plus one big monitor. Then we found out the big screen monitor system is not compatible with other cameras. We returned the wide screen unit and the other unit and bought two of the 2.5" color screen units. This screen is big enough for me to see arms or legs flailing. The 1.8" screen was too small to see enough to keep me from dashing upstairs when I heard the babies fussing. The widescreen adds detail but we used the handheld much more often. Now we have the ability to focus one camera on each baby and have one monitor for upstairs, one for downstairs, or one for mom, one for dad.
I did not give the units 5 stars because the units get a little interference and I wish the camera's angle was a little wider so they could be placed closer to the babies.
UPDATE: after 5 months of good operation the static has increased to the point now where the cameras are almost unusable. I will likely return these for another product on a different frequency.

First I would like to say that Summer is an EXCELLENT company and stands behind their product 100%. I had an issue with the battery not recharging after 10 months so I placed a call to customer service. In less than 2 minutes and no questions asked, they offered to mail me a new battery free of charge. I received it and everything works well again.
We absolutely love having the option of watching our 3 year old sleep/play in one room and our infant sleep peacefully in the other. I had a mild problem with static but after manipulating the camera the problem was resolved.
The monitor is very well made. We have dropped it so many times and it still works like new. Very durable!
I would without a doubt recommend this product to anyone. We have been so happy with our choice to buy this monitor with a second camera.
