Customer Review: Nothing GOOD to Say
Summary: 1 Stars

I got this from Walmart while I was pregnant. It seemed like the mesh would be more comfortable than those hard plastic tubs, which is why I got it. After 5 months of use, I really wish I got something else. Never once has this thing been easy.

Cons:
-lowest incline is too high
-baby can slip forward because of the incline
-baby can roll off the side
-the mesh cover is impossible to take off completely without tearing
-the metal stand is beginning to rust (not the base since that's plastic but the pole things that hold up the mesh are metal)
-easily tips forward
-head positioner is useless and annoying
-the material is too tight
-does not fit in any sink I've ever seen
-extremely difficult to wash the baby's back
-has to be on the stand to dry all day before folding. if you fold and store while wet or even a little moist, you have a serious risk of mold
-the mesh is starting to tear at pressure points on the top and bottom

Pros:
-cute
-my son doesn't seem uncomfortable
-cheap

The thing is absolutely terrible, but you get what you pay for. Now my son is too big for it and starting to sit up, so I'm off to find a bath seat and throw this thing in the trash.

Customer Review: Great seat
Summary: 4 Stars

We used this for our youngest and it was GREAT! With my first child I had a baby bath tub and it was a disaster, it was always in the way and never ever got dry. It was a pain in the bathtub and I had no counter space in my apartment to use it. After I pitched that I bought a bath seat which was pretty cool once I took the gigantic sponge off the bottom, again, a nightmare to keep clean. But it was only used for about three months before I realized the child didn't need it. With my second child I gave up on the baby bathtub bit altogether and just got into the tub with the baby. Quick, simple, worked great. The biggest problem was getting out of the tub but thick terry robes by the tub for each of us simplified that. You just have to remember that baby bath time is not mommy bath time. With my youngest we tried this bather and, despite my lack of enthusiasm, it was simple to use, easy to keep clean, dried quickly and we had no trouble storing it when it wasn't in use. It only lasted a few months but at around $20, who cares? If you don't want to take baby into the tub with you, buy one of these.

Customer Review: Works well for travel
Summary: 4 Stars

I bought this because i was sick of using baby's gigantic plastic tub! We have a small bathroom and we travel often so this is the perfect alternative. It was exactly what i wanted and my baby girl loves it. that said it does have some drawbacks. I personally love it and definately feel i got my $s worth. but due to the few cons i had to give it four stars instead of five.

Pros:
-lightweight and easy to colapse
-takes up very little room once collapsed
-baby loves it!
-easy to clean and dries quickly
-positions baby in a way that makes it easy to clean all those little folds

Cons:
-has tipped with baby in it when she moved around alot, esp when she tries to sit forward
-the reclining position would still be too high to put a newborn in they would just slump down at the bottom
-began to rust after only a few months

that said i am buying one for my sister who is expecting her first in june. if you dont want a bulky plastic tub or you need something easier to travel with then this is for you!

Customer Review: Very difficult to fold
Summary: 1 Stars

I was extremely disappointed w/this product. I did a lot of research because we don't have much space and I picked this product because it could be folded after each bath. However, it is VERY DIFFICULT to fold it back and after just one use I wasn't able to fold it back at all, nor was my husband. We only used it twice because our newborn baby wasn't very stable in it and cried a lot. When we bathed her in a regular bathtub, she didn't cry at all. I went to Target and bought The First Year's Infant To Toddler Tub with Sling for $17.99 and she was much happier. (They have it on Amazon too, I was just afraid to buy another item online, returns at Target are much easier.) This bathtub has a special sling for newborn babies (which I haven't tried because I bought it when she was 3 mo), as well as seats for infants and toddlers. We've been using it for 3 months now and are very happy with it. I would not recommend the Summer Infant Deluxe Baby Bather - baby didn't like it, parents couldn't fold it.

Customer Review: Good idea, poor execution
Summary: 2 Stars

We received one of these bather seats from a friend and were eager to move our child into it from the hard molded baby tubs. We attempted this around the 7 month mark when our son was 17.5 pounds. Unfortunately, the seat just seemed to sag too much from his weight. Once the bather seat was wet, he just slid down the hammock to the very bottom, all scrunched up. He has trunk strength and the ability to roll over so it wasn't just that he wasn't holding himself; he did not wiggle in the seat to slide down, he just was unable to do anything to prevent it. Since their bottom is supposed to rest in the sling and their legs are supposed to dangle, he had nothing to rest his legs against to prevent the slide. This is a good idea, but has poor execution. I was inclined to really like it, but it didn't work for us.
