I bought this monitor when we moved our daughter from her cradle in our bedroom to her big girl crib at 3 months. She s now 4 months and we have found it to be a wonderful product. We can see her whenever we need to during the night if we hear here make a noise, but if she's fine we're not going into the room and disturbing her. Of course, if we suspect she's in a funny position upon looking at the screen we physically go in to check on her and move her. This device is a great help but you're eyes are still better. I wouldn't let this little camera give me a false sense of security, but it is so helpful as you do your chores while she naps you can always see her and know she's fine. People laugh and say, "she's in her crib, where do you think she's going?" but we love it. We purchased it in pink for our little girl and I highly recommend it. The one con is during the first few weeks we picked up another camera. It was my brother's of his son two houses over from mine, but it was scary because I was thinking who could be looking in at our children. So when not in use we turn it off. Other than that it is a great product. It does not do it as much now, I don't know why it did it the first few weeks so much, but it seems to have stopped for now. My husband insisted on a video monitor and since it's the one baby thing he had a strong opinion about, I agreed to fork out the $130 for it even though I was convinced that we didn't need any monitor at all, let alone a fancy pants video one. As it turns out, a video monitor is by far one of the coolest baby gadgets ever. Being able to look at her in the monitor when she made a noise was especially convenient in the middle of the night and saved me from having to get in and out of bed frequently (I've got a very noisy daughter so knowing when I was actually needed and when I wasn't was crucial). The CONCEPT is awesome.
The technology is not. It lasted for one year only. It started acting up a few months ago, and I attributed it to a dying battery. Fortunately it plugs in so we were able to continue using it as long as we were close to an outlet while we ordered another battery. Two weeks after installing the new battery, the monitor itself stopped taking a charge completely (I think it's something with the charging portal, not the battery). I was able to jiggle it a bit the first day to get it to charge, but it went out completely last night and no amount of jiggling is bringing it back.
For $130, it should have lasted longer.
Customer Review: Don't buy if you stay in an apartment complex

When I received the product and opened it to set it up, I was quite happy with the build quality and the overall finish of this device. I powered on the camera and then the hand-held monitor and I was amazed that it indeed had a very nice image of the crib area you point it at.
Then I powered OFF the camera and kept the hand-held monitor powered ON. Thats when I saw someone else's baby in his/her crib. The device comes with 2 channels, so I flipped from one channel to the other and to my surprise there was someone else's baby on the other channel. You can even listen to what the people around the transmitter are talking about. Since the transmitter uses 900Mhz signal to transmit the information over the air, and only has 2 channels, if you stay in a apartment complex or a highly populated area where houses are close-by, there is a chance that someone else might have this item and they can watch/hear what your camera transmits and vice versa.
When you power on your own camera, the signal from your camera is the strongest and hence you will only see your baby in your monitor. But if you want privacy and do not want your neighbors to know what you are talking about and what your baby is doing, better stay away from this monitor.

I have never reviewed a product before but I had to comment on this one. I registered for A LOT of items when I was pregnant - including 3 different kinds of monitors. We received them all and this was by far our favorite - we returned the other two. We have a large house and are able to see a great picture of our baby whether it's day or night regardless of where we are in the house. The night vision is great - a little creepy when the baby's eyes are open and staring straight at the camera in the dark. You can hear every sound he makes and are able to see whether he's waking or just turning in his sleep. We even took the monitor with us to visit our in-laws in Florida - we were able to sit by the pool outside while he slept soundly in a room upstairs. The handheld monitor is fantastic - stays charged for a long time. The camera - while it needs to be plugged in, comes with a VERY long cord (unlike a lot of other baby products that need to be plugged in) so you don't need to rearrange your nursery or get extension to be able to set up the camera nearthe crib. Love it, love it, love it. Our baby is now 5 months old and in my relatively new experience, when it comes to baby items, this is definitely one of my top 5 favorite and most often used.Customer Review: Excellent Monitor

This is a great monitor. I bought the Mobicam about 10 months ago and had been using it until about a month ago when it just gave out, which was pretty upsetting considering it cost almost $200. The picture wasn't bad but there was always static which made it difficult to sleep at night when it was on. Also, a lot of devices in the house interfered with it but I put up with it because the other products on the market were worse. Then after the Mobicam gave out, I tried the Safety First video monitor from Babies R Us and it was terrible: terrible picture at night, and there was still lots of static on all the channels I tried. Then I bought the Summer Infant handhbeld video also from Babies R Us and it is amazing. We live in a two level house, the picture, both day and night, is clear as a bell and best of all there is NO static no matter where in the house I am. I love this product and recommend it over all the other products. I also bought the buyers' protection plan for $25 which provides that if the monitor breaks down in the next 15 months, the company will refund the full amount, which is pretty good, considering that I had the Mobicam for under a year and it just broke down for no apparent reason.
