Customer Review: Died after less than a year, but otherwise a great monitor

This monitor was great, while it worked. It was so helpful to have a video monitor to peek in on baby without waking her. For sleep training, it's almost indispensable. The image is pretty good, even on night vision, and it has a pretty good battery life all things considered. The sound was only okay, but I prefer the sound from my audio monitor, so I just turned the video's volume down and used the audio monitor. If I needed to check on the baby, I activated the video monitor with the touch of a button.
Unfortunately, the monitor developed static after a while and became increasingly difficult to use until it eventually just died. I've read other reviews where the same thing happened, so it seems like some of these monitors are not built to last for more than a few months. I know it's the monitor because when my sister in law stayed with us, their same model monitor was able to pick up the frequency of the camera without any problems. Now that I have a second child, I am looking for a new monitor. I probably won't buy this one again, though I haven't found a brand that works better. Very disappointing.

I have a very independant and smart almost-3 year old and another on the way in 3 weeks. We live in a detatched 2-story guest house on my parents property. They generously do a lot of babysitting for me while my husband works and I go to dr. appointments EVERY day! One day while listening to the old audio baby monitor (i was at the dr.) my mom didnt hear my son wake up and walk out of our house and head down the 1/4 mile long driveway. Luckily, before my mom even knew he was missing, our neighbors saw my son and brought him home! This traumatized everybody and so we decided a video monitor was absolutely neccessary to have now.
We have had this for a week and it has been GLORIOUS! The reception is great and the picture is so clear! I love all the options for picture clearity and volume. The picture does turn off afte a few minutes and i assume that it to save the battery power. this is easily remedies by quickly turning it off and back on. even when there is no picture the sound is still on. I cannot say enough good things about this product and everybody in our household is so relieved to have it!
Customer Review: Excellent Monitor, Great Customer Service.

We recieved this as a baby shower gift. The first one was defective (Channel A on the camera was B on the reciever, and B on the camera did not work at all). Called the manufacturer and they sent us a new one with no questions asked - terrific customer service. The new one arrived - it is great! The camera mounts easily to the wall with two screws (right above the crib) and the picture is great - especially at night the infared gives clear detail. Does succumb to some occaisonal static (even after we replaced our 900Mhz cordless phone with a 2.4Ghz one because of interference), and just one pixel on the display has turned blue. With the camera wall-mounted, it may not very portable though - we use a second sound-only monitor for the living room/toy room.
But overall this product is great. As new parents the peace of mind of being able to clearly see as well as hear our baby without going into her room and disturbing her (especially in an old house with creaky floorboards) is priceless. Would definitely recommend this product - while a little on the expensive side, we could not do without this monitor!
Customer Review: Good, but why all the interference?

We didn't have a video monitor at first, but when Black Friday came around, we got this on sale. I'm glad we have a video monitor now that our daughter is old enough to make cute noises, roll around, and sleep in funny positions, so I can check in on her without disturbing her. The first few months of life, when she just stayed there like a bump on a log, the audio only monitor worked just fine.
My major problem with this monitor is the interference. I paid 3 times as much for this monitor as I did for the Sony 900MHz Nursery Call monitor (which is an AWESOME monitor--only had interference if we got to close to it with a cell phone) but this monitor has interference ALL THE TIME. No rhyme or reason. One minute it works perfectly, the next it's freaking out. How can a cheaper audio-only monitor work so well if a fancy video one can't?
But from all the reviews I've read, interference is a common problem with ALL video monitors, not just this one. So overall, I guess it's one of the better video monitors out there, bang for your buck.

We bought this monitor after researching and trying a few other models.
Pros:
Excellent reception, even in a large old house- it works better than our wireless phones!
Clear picture- love to be able to change the brightness of the camera
Night vision works great!
Very sensitive- it will pick up anything in the room- including air conditioners, fans, etc.... it didn't really bother me, but i am used to sleeping with noise (I could see how it might bother sensitive sleepers)
Excellent battery life!
Cons:
Did have some issues with interference with our wireless phones- the stand was literally right beside the monitor on my bedstand- a little manuvering and it isn't a problem (only when someone is using the phone... and that is only if you are standing right beside the monitor)
I have to say- I would reccommend this to any parents- it is an excellent quality monitor that performs very well- we are very satisfied!
