We bought this monitor and were excited to set it up. Unfortunately the on/off button was broken and did not work. After reading a number of reviews on this model we noticed that many people have had the same problem. If shopping for a monitor you may want to purchase a monitor that has an on/off switch rather than an on/off button that you push. The spring system that makes the button turn on and off was broken before we even got to use it once. I plan on returning this item tomorrow.Customer Review: Love it!

My best friend recommended this monitor, I was skeptical at first but I have had this monitor for about 6 months and have had no problems with it. I charge my cellphone right next to it on my bedside table and we have wireless phones and internet and don't have reception issues. Sometimes it gets static but you just move the monitor a little this way or that and it stops. I got it when my daughter was 1 because we were having some sleep issues and had to resort to letting her "cry it out." I wish I would have had it from the beginning. We are expecting baby # 2 now and we plan on purchasing another one. I also have the extra (sound only) hand held portable monitor that they sell in another package and it is crap so save your money and just get this set. The picture quality is not as good as on the advertisement, but I can see everything I need to, even at night. It is so nice to be able to watch when my baby is kicking and when he is still. I just wish there was a separate portable sound monitor and that the volume had a lower setting. I only use this in the daytime, but after I go to bed I use a different sound monitor. We bought this monitor on clearance a few months ago. We currently have the regular hand held video monitor but with a two year old and a baby on the way, we wanted another monitor to go in our two year olds room now that she is in a big bed and gets in and out on her own. This video monitor was perfect for us because we just needed something to be able to see what she is up to... we didn't need anything very portable. The video on it is very clear and I love having the big screen. I do have to turn the screen off at night though (the audio is still on) because it is very bright. But after a few months, the on and off button stopped working. Currently, we can't even turn the monitor on anymore. I called customer service and they are sending us a brand new system with a brand new one year warranty! It was a no-hassle call and they were extremely helpful and accommodating. I don't have the receipt from the store or anything so I was surprised that they offered this to us. We will be sending in the broken one and getting a new one free of charge with shipping on them. So even though the monitor was not very reliable for us, they are fixing the problem and will continue to fix it as long as it doesn't go past the one year warranty.
