We have had this unit for nearly 2 years and it still runs great! I feel obligated to review it. I had read a few negative reviews about interference and plug life, but have not had any of these problems. The picture is quite clear and the interference is minimal. If the monitor starts to squelch, just slide it over a few inches until the signal clears. We have gotten quite good at turning the monitor on our kitchen counter ever so slightly to improve reception - not a big deal at all!
We have also been diligent about unplugging both the monitor and camera when not in use. I read that the plugs can heat up and crack so we always make an effort to unplug when the munchkin wakes up. This just seems like good sense anyway, regardless of plug issues.
I am very glad I bought this unit and didn't let the negative reviews sway me too much. If you're looking for a monitor at a decent price I say go for it.

I love this product.
It is my best friend, specially at night.
Actually I had it for three months and It stopped working but I got it replaced at not cost. I contacted Summer and they were pretty good about it, I got the same one because I think it is very good, something went wrong with the first one but I work in manufacturing and I understand that sometimes this things happends.
The monitor is easy to carry everywhere. You need to find an outlet though but still I prefer this than buying the cordless one because it is over $100 more and I don;t see the need ,really.
Good product, totally recommend.

We love this monitor. Our baby just turned 1 so we've had this a year and just registered for a second since we are having a second baby soon. This gives us peace of mind when she fusses because we can see whether she is just getting situated or if something is really wrong. Otherwise, we would have to peek in and have her see us and then start the whole nap or bedtime process over again. This is so sensitive that when she has had chest colds, we've been able to turn it up to see if she's wheezing without sneaking in and risking her waking from a creaking floor. We are thoroughly satisfied. The night vision is awesome.Customer Review: Get something else, even if it costs more.

We bought one of these in spring of 2006 when our son was about 5 mos old, and it worked great with no problems. About 18 mos later, however, the cord started to fail such that the monitor wouldn't come on unless we moved the cord around to some random "magic spot." (Move around as in, turn the part that goes into the back of the monitor.) One day last week, the cord finally just died, and we couldn't get the monitor to come back on at all. The next day, we bought a new one of the very same monitor, and it's AWFUL. The picture is fine, but we were up til 2:30 am the first night, trying to find a place where the monitor didn't make this horrible, repetitive, endless static noise. I finally ended up sleeping alone in our guest room because I couldn't take it anymore. We're returning it today, and I don't care if we have to spend $300 on something else, as long as it doesn't make that noise.
