Customer Review: Perfect for nighttime!

We bought this monitor after having the Graco iMonitor Digital handheld thing that cost twice as much. We used it for one night and returned it for horrible and I repeat HORRIBLE reception and equally crappy picture quality. You could not tell what the baby was doing because the screen picture would constantly rotate around or flicker in and out. And some insane alarm kept going off once every 10 minutes to tell us it could not pick up a picture even though the unit was not touched all night! It was also on a delay so all we got was a horrible echo through the house every time he cried and the picture was also a few seconds delayed. I got this one home, plugged it in, set the camera in the baby's room and turned it on and presto a picture I could see clearly with no delay and in real time! The picture quality is so good I can see my little boy breathing day or night. We were very hesitant to make the transition to putting him in his room, but with this monitor it's the next best thing to having him right there with us. After playing with it a bit more the first evening we found a channel that works for us with no interference from any other electronics in the house. We did also find to control the noise level all we did was set it on top of a single diaper and that was enough for the unit to absorb all of the sound and you can't even tell anything is underneath it! Compared to the Graco iMonitor which is a 1.5" color screen and portable, I will take the black and white 5" stationary unit any day. Great value for the money!
