Customer Review: Most difficult opperation of this product was figuring out how to repackage it to bring it right back to the store!

Maybe because we use a nightlight in our daughter's room, but this monitor did not work at all. I got a hazy image, wherever there was bright white color in the room (her crib rails or sheets) but our brown baby was invisible. I bought it because it had night "vision" and we are phasing our toddler into a real bed. I wanted to know what that "clunk" was without disturbing her if she was being good. The picture is clearer (but still very vague) during the daylight hours, but is impossibly faint at night (again, maybe because the night "vision" was disturbed by the nightlight). Whatever the case, I used it as a regular sound monitor that night, then immediately hooked up her old monitor and returned this one to the store. It was worse than worthless. How much good is it to see the crib, if you can't tell if the child is in it or not?Customer Review: Piece of mind

We bought this for piece of mind when we moved our baby into his own room. We use it every night and it is so much easier than constantly looking in on him. We found the night display to be excellent, although sometimes you can experience a bit of static. The microphone is VERY sensitive and picks up noises in the other rooms, but you can turn it way down if you like. I recommend this to every worried parent. My first monitor had problems right out of the box. The video on/off button didn't work, but it wasn't the end of the world and the video just stayed on. Then about a week later, the monitor stopped working all together! So, we took it back and got a new one. This one worked, but the reception was never great and we got a good amount of feedback. I'm sure this was due to our cordless phone, but what are you to do? Everyone has cordless phones now so it's always going to interfere. The constant buzz drove me crazy. However, the most alarming thing was that I read the other reviews about the AC adapter getting hot and some people had it actually smoke. So, I checked the AC adapter and after an hour of being on (the monitor portion), it was really hot! I definitely didn't feel like I could leave it on all night which was a huge problem. This seemed like a safety hazard so I unplugged it and ended up returning the monitor again. While I loved the idea of a video monitor, I ended up getting the Sony Babycall which got great reviews and so far (one week), I love it!Customer Review: Baby Video Monitor is a lifesaver!

When our first son was born, we decided to purchase this monitor over all the others available. As first time parents, we were very concerned about SID's and since it's impossible to be with your child every moment of the night and day, this monitor was a lifesaver for us. We placed the monitor on our nightstand and the eye is mounted on one of the walls in our son's nursery. At any time now we can check on him without disturbing him.
All you have to do is just click on the monitor and you will see a clear picture of what is happening at any given moment in the nursery. Plus you don't even have to turn on the picture in order to monitor what your child is doing. Just turn the sound on and if you hear something that you want to investigate, you can then turn on the monitor.
For piece of mind and a good night sleep, this is the best money we have every spent.

This is the only video monitor I ever used so I can not compare it to the others, but I think it does a so-so job. First of all... I can't use the sound as there is just way too much static. I have to use a regular baby monitor instead and keep the sound turned off on the video monitor. Not a big deal, but it is a bit annoying since I paid $100 for it. Secondly, the picture isn't that great. I can usually only tell how my baby is sleeping by where his head is since he has dark hair and that is about all I can see. You can make out the figure once you find his head! But, it does get the job done and gives me peace of mind. If he wakes up in the middle of the night and I hear crying, I can tell if he is still laying down or if he is standing up. It doesn't limit all my trips to his room at night, but certainly cuts them down. I would recommend a video monitor, but I don't know if maybe there is a better one out there. You would think with all the technology out there today the picture would be better.
