After reading the other reviews, I was apprehensive to spend $100 on something that wouldn't work properly. To my surprise, it exceeded my expectations. After moving our 4 month old from our room to hers to sleep in her crib, we found that the monitor had excellent range. Our room is on the opposite side of the house, across the kitchen and living room, and we were still able to get excellent sound and picture. THe picture is so clear you can see her chest rise and fall, and the sound is so good you can hear her shift in the night. I am not sure why some reviewers couldn't get reception 5 feet from their baby's room. Maybe they didn't know the monitor had 2 channels?
I recommend this to anyone. I was nervous about being so far away all night, but this monitor gives me peace of mind. In addition, it is lightweight and portable. I take it to the bathroom while I get ready for work and to the computer room while I do work, to the kitchen while I cook, etc....
A must have for new parents - well worth the money!!

I have used this monitor EVERYDAY since my 9 month old son was born. I love it! I use it during his naps, while he is awake and playing in his crib, and as he sleeps all night. It is very easy to carry from room to room and set up anywhere. Actually, I have gotten into the habit of using the tv monitor as a nightlight in MY bedroom. I ALWAYS have the screen turned on and should probably be using just the audio portion when I don't really need to see him. The only problem is the screen began to flip out and reception became poor. I figured this was due to the constant use of the video portion of the monitor, and I basically burned out the screen. I took it back to the store and got a new one, and the new one works perfectly fine. My only advice would be not to use the video portion if you don't really need to see your child. I plan to use the snooze style audio button more often now, so I don't burn out the screen. I just hope this new one lasts long enough so I can use it with another child someday.Customer Review: So-So... but does the job.

This is the only video monitor I ever used so I can not compare it to the others, but I think it does a so-so job. First of all... I can't use the sound as there is just way too much static. I have to use a regular baby monitor instead and keep the sound turned off on the video monitor. Not a big deal, but it is a bit annoying since I paid $100 for it. Secondly, the picture isn't that great. I can usually only tell how my baby is sleeping by where his head is since he has dark hair and that is about all I can see. You can make out the figure once you find his head! But, it does get the job done and gives me peace of mind. If he wakes up in the middle of the night and I hear crying, I can tell if he is still laying down or if he is standing up. It doesn't limit all my trips to his room at night, but certainly cuts them down. I would recommend a video monitor, but I don't know if maybe there is a better one out there. You would think with all the technology out there today the picture would be better.Customer Review: This monitor is AWESOME!

This monitor is the BEST! We love it! What amazes us most is the clear night picture. Our daughter's room is completely dark at night and we can see her clear as day on this monitor. The sound is great, too. We can even hear her breathe.
We've got a tri-level home, and keep the screen in the lowest portion most of the time. The nursery is on the top floor, and the picture is still clear.
I had my doubts about this before we bought it, but it has far exceeded our expectations. We got it home, plugged it in, and we were good to go in about 30 seconds.
The only issue we have is that it doesn't take batteries. I read some reviews that the "batteries burned out quickly", but ours doesn't take batteries. We really wish it did. It would be nice to have the camera up without having to conceal the cord, and would be nice to be able to really put the screen wherever we want (outside while baby naps, etc).
I can't believe there was life before this thing!!!

Our monitor HUMS LOUDLY!!! I have contacted the manufacturer, who sent us a label to ship the unit, and we received it back today, totally unrepaired, doesn't seem like it was even serviced or removed from our box!!!! I am hearing impaired so I figured this would be great to have for the baby since I cannot hear him cry without aids or with the use of a monitor. All I hear is the hum from the monitor ALL NIGHT LONG! The manufacturer gave several excuses for the humming before agreeing to look at it to service, since we didn't open it until the baby was in his crib, 5 months after it was purchased (which was our mistake). I would recommend looking at other manufacturers or just get a sound monitor! I have come to rely on ours, with no humming!! (our sound monitor is a 900 mHz, and so is the video monitor. The sound monitor doesn't hum. Hmmm...) Now I have contacted the manufacturer to find out why it performs so poorly, no one returns calls, emails, anything!!! BUY A DIFFERENT PRODUCT!!!
