Baby Products Reviews of Stack & Count Cups - 8 pack

Customer Review: A Simple and Inexpensive Delight.
Summary: 5 Stars

What a simple toy! At first I couldn't visualize how a baby (my first) could find a set of stacking cups interesting and enjoyable. Well, at first all he did was scatter them about. Then he started banging things with them. Then he started holding them in his hands and walking around with them as if he had hooves. Finally, he started to study them and spent a lot of time at this activity.

At the present time, our boy is 15 months old. Now he takes the stack apart, arranges the cups on a flat place, goes back to get them and put them back together in the proper order. I sometimes mix them up on his flat place and turn a few upside down. He immediately goes to the pile and sorts them out in the proper orientation and order and rebuilds the stack. Then he smiles at his accomplishment. It's rather amazing.

He seems to find the cups endlessly fascinating. When he's whiny or grumpy, I give him the stack and that immediately grabs his attention. We take them everywhere. In the bath. In the car. It's a simple and inexpensive delight.

This toy was recommended to me by a few children I used to nanny for and their mother...who also happens to be a pediatrician. My son, who is now 6 months, LOVES them! We stack them up and then he cautiously - and sometimes brutally - knocks them down with such delight. He also likes to practice holding them like "big people" cups, knocks them together as a musical instrument, and enjoys playing with them in the bath - all great for practicing his motor skills. They are colorful and durable, simple and classic. They also have numbers on them, so as he grows we can talk about the numbers and colors. What fun! A perfect little gift for little ones - and small enough when all stacked together to fit easily inside a diaper bag for travel. LOVE these!

Customer Review: Must-have
Summary: 5 Stars

We got these cups for our now-11 month old when he was about 7 months and they instantly became his favorite toy. They exert an odd, Svengali-like power over him: if he sees them, he'll reach for them in preference to pretty much any other toy, no matter how many tunes, flashing lights or levers it may have. They're also cheap and easy to throw in a travel bag. He's too small to stack them but loves to fish them out of each other, bang them together, and knock them over when we stack them. The holes in the bottom also make them interesting in the bath: he enjoys watching the water trickle out in multiple streams. I can't overstate, or for that matter explain, the appeal of this toy.

Customer Review: A long-lasting favorite
Summary: 5 Stars

My son is 20 months old, and we got these cups well over a year ago. They're still one of his favorite toys!

When he was little, we'd build towers out of them, and he'd knock them down. When he was a bit older, he'd yell into them or bang the cups together. Now he can nest and stack them on his own. He puts other things inside them, under them, etc. I love to see all the way he can come up to play with such a simple toy! (I'm really big on toys that don't "do stuff" but encourage kids to use their creativity.)

We also use them to teach him about colors ("can you bring mommy the green cup?" etc.), about "big" and "little," etc.

Customer Review: Simple, but not boring!
Summary: 5 Stars

My DS is 10 months old and has been playing with these cups for the past few months. Truly, they are one of his favorite toys (much to my surprise!). He will sit in his high chair while I make dinner and bang the cups together, chew on them, throw them on the floor, etc. Or, we'll sit on the floor together and I'll stack them so he can knock them over. He has not gotten bored with them yet. This is one toy I actually have to take away from him; he doesn't just abandon it and move on to something else.

For this price, these cups have proven themselves more than worthwhile for us.
