Customer Review: Great diaper bag- love the detachable purse

This is a GREAT bag. I've had 2 other Skip Hop bags (Duo and Dash- original) and recently was using the Fleurville Mothership. I loved the Dash best of all but the exterior color (canvas red) was just so boring, plus it was a little small when fully packed. The City Chic bag looks a lot classier and sophisticated without sacrificing organization like the Mothership.
The best things about this bag are:
Interior organization- There are actually six interior pockets- 2 on each side, that can fit things like wipes, hats, 2 juice boxes, etc, and two much smaller side pockets with elasticized tops that could fit a bottle or toiletries.
It is not a huge bag. The dimensions seem large, but it's actually smaller than the Mothership. The top tapers (when zipped).
The detachable purse is great- a nice size for a small wallet, cell phone, and other small items. But when full and attached to the bag, it can cause the bag to tip. But I love it because I never bring my purse and diaper bag, and I have a lot of small items that I usually transfer from my purse to diaper bag. I love that it detaches for when I just need a small purse. This was my biggest complaint about the Mothership and Duo- no good place to store your wallet/cell phone/small purse items. Just beware, this is not that big. But it's a really cool feature!
The things that could be improved are:
The patterns designs could be a bit more interesting (along the lines of Fleurville, Ju-Ju-Be and Lexie Totes). I have the West Side Wave which is a nice red color.
On the outside, there are the two side pockets, which are open w/o tops. They taper at the top, making bottles fit snug, but also make it harder to pull smaller things out. I would suggest traditional button-snap side covered pockets like the Mothership and Dash.
The shoulder strap for the mommy purse is a bit flimsy. I could see it breaking and need to be replaced.
The nylon/leather shoulder straps should be sturdier- maybe all leather? The nylon looks cheap.
Provide a carabinier clip for keys right on the inside
Provide better stroller clips. The design is better than the dash (where you completely removed the shoulder strap- which could get lost), but the actual clasps for the stroller clips are really heavy and hard to use when you're trying to wrap the strap around the stroller. Still, I like that the stroller attachment is built into the bag, since I rotate between 4 (!) strollers.
