Yeah, I know. Cheesy.
But it's true! I made fun of my friend when she purchased these after having her little boy. I said, "Hey! Germs aren't going to kill him. I ate used gum from underneath the table and I'm fine!" At the time, I had no idea I was about to become a father myself.
My opinion definitely changed after having my own little boy. We're at the phase where he wants to try everything we eat, but he's also at the phase where he loves to throw dishes at your head (or anyone else's for that matter). So, giving him a bowl or plate when we're out isn't an option. I was wiping down the table with baby wipes, then placing a piece of two of food directly on the table at first. Then I saw someone at a restaurant clean a table with the same rag he just cleaned the floor with. Nope. Not gonna happen.
So, I ordered these and I've been really happy. They are functional, they're durable and they serve their purpose. We always get asked about them when we're out. We will be keeping these in stock until our little man is out of the throwing bowls phase (anytime...please?).

Wish I had these when my kids were small. I got these for my 2 year old grandson and they work really well. It gives him a colorful backdrop to his lunch and are very easy to put in place...as well as wad up all the leftovers on and just toss away. I wish they came in different sizes so that I could protect more area if I wanted to, instead I use mulitple ones on occasion when I need to. Keeps the food from getting into the little decorative grooves of sides my wooden kitchen table by simply running the placemat down the side where he eats and sticking just below the bottom. No problem with these at all and he enjoys pointing out Oscar, Elmo (his favorite) and Cookie Monster. I recommend these especially for going out to restaurant . One thing to consider - you might be interesed in paper ones like this as when you are at a restaurant and spend some time waiting for your food, paper ones can be drawn on with crayons, pencils and such. These are thin plastic (like a heavy plastic wrap, and cannot be easily drawn on.Customer Review: A must for every diaper bag!

Well worth the price, some places sell them for more than others, so check around for the best deal. Easily sticks to any table to give child a clean place to eat. Great for babies just eating finger foods, or a toddler. Great for using on park benches or picnic tables. Even sticks to the wooden ones! Ot those metal picnic tables with the holes, prevents food from falling to the floor. Size is of a regular placemat that seemed more than enough for my son, but if you have one that reaches all over use 2 at a time! Hard to unpeel and mine never tried, colorful characters and pictures help keep mine entertained while waiting at a restaurant. Plus I don't have to worry he is going to throw the glass dish on the floor, I just put everything on the placemat, and take the plate away! My toddler loves to play hide and seek on the placemat,...we use salt,ketchup, sugar packets to cover up characters or items on the placemeat and he tries to find the correct item by looking under it. Another time waster that works!

I've used different versions of these table toppers for several years with all 3 of my kids. I find them most useful for babies and toddlers who cannot be trusted to not throw plates or other things on the floor of restaurants. I put it on the table and then use it as a clean surface to put the baby's food on.
These are the best deal I've seen, far better than at the national baby retail store. I like that these table toppers have adhesive on all four sides, which is a big deal with my third child who has a harder time pulling it off the table with it stuck down on all four sides. These table toppers had two different Sesame Street designs (as shown) for variety and come with a white plastic box to store them in. The box is a little larger than I care to lug around in my purse/diaper bag, so I keep it in the car and pull a few out at a time into my bag. But I do like the plastic dispenser box.

I have used Table Toppers since my daughter was old enough to sit in a high chair - and still use them today. She loves pointing to & talking about the characters, colors, and words. If she is getting antsy, we start asking questions about what Elmo is holding, what color the ball is, etc. Their main purpose - giving baby a sanitary surface for eating - is vital. After serving in restaurants for a total of 12 years, I know first hand how unclean tables are. Typically, the same nasty towel is used for an entire day - or more! Even after it has fallen on the floor or been used to wipe off other things (including spills on the FLOOR), that same towel is what is "cleaning" the table surface. Do you really want your baby eating off that? Anyway, this product is fantastic~
