Baby Products Reviews of Sesame Street Folding Travel Potty SeatCustomer Review: Good idea but poor quality Summary: 2 Stars
I was very excited about this potty seat. I thought it would help my daughter with her fear of public toliets. But it almost made it worse. This seat is very flimsy. It bends under her weight (she's 33 pounds), which scares her of course. It also slides around and doesn't fit oblong seats at all. If you move it towards the front like I saw some reviews suggested, your child will wet their pants because it puts them to close to the rim of the toliet. Not a good investment, stick with the old fashioned cushioned rings. I keep it in a big zip loc bag and wipe it down with handi wipes after each use! She is now not afraid to use the "big store potty".
Customer Review: Travels well, functions poorly. Summary: 1 Stars
I bought this item based on a recommendation by my sister-in-law, and I now regret listening to her. This seat is great in that it is compact enough to fit into a diaper bag for travel, but other than that, it's worthless.
This is not a reliable product to use if you have a squirmy, fidgety, potty trainer (and what child isn't?). The seat does not stay in place. It slips and slides all over the place and doesn't even fit properly on any toilet that I've tried it on. We have this seat in our downstairs bathroom for my 3-year-old son, and he has fallen in the toilet and had his butt pinched so many times that he now refuses to use it!
Customer Review: Good Idea... Inconvienient Summary: 3 Stars
I bought this for my two year old son. He's pretty small for his age and his little butt is almost too small for the hole in the seat. He loved the pattern and wanted to use it at home but then soon preferred the softer seat we have over this one. As far as using it on trips... it doesn't fit very well on elongated toilet seats and it is a pain to clean in a public restroom with a toddler at your side. Lucky for us my son rarely has to go #2 while we're out so I usually just have him stand on the regular seat and use it like a urinal. It saves us time and I don't have to worry about him putting his hands all over the dirty seat.
Customer Review: A lifesaver! Summary: 5 Stars
I bought this seat right after my daughter potty trained herself. She was 25 months and about 25lbs. I did have a little trouble at first trying to figure out how it fit on the toilet, but quickly learned how it works. I was a little concerned with it bowing in the back, but now I just don't set her quite as far back and have no problems with it. We have used this seat on weekend vacations and she uses it almost daily at the babysitters or out and about with mom or dad. This seat is really a lifesaver because my daughter will freak out if she's held over a big toilet. This gets a thumbs up in my book!
Customer Review: Good product for reasonable price Summary: 4 Stars
We bought this seat to take with us in case our little boy needed to use the potty in public. If you install it properly (with the front edge slightly over the edge of the toilet seat) it doesn't seem to have any problems. My son has been using this for 5 months when we are out and about and has had none of the problems mentioned from other reviewers. It does bow slightly but not enough to have him fall in (he weighs 32lbs). I like that the parts that touch the toilet seat all fold together reducing the need to clean/sanitize it right there in the public loo with a toddler at your feet.
