Baby Products Reviews of Sesame Street Folding Travel Potty SeatCustomer Review: Good Idea, Bad Product!!!! Summary: 1 Stars
I found this for cheap at a local store, and decided to get it for home and travel. My twin girls (18 months) are a little weary of the toilet already, and I know if I tried to put them on this thing, it would ruin any progress we've made. It is totally flimsy, and unstable on our toilet (elongated seat). It does not cover the whole seat, and it doesn't attach to the toilet in any way. When I set it on the seat to fit it, it ended up falling in! Not only that, but it looks like it the hinges would pinch little thighs. I threw it in the trash and bought the baby bjorn potty seat-- it is so stable and comfortable for my girls. I would advise anyone to spend the extra $$ and get a decent potty seat, as this thing is a total waste of money!!!
Customer Review: Inexpensive and works very well Summary: 5 Stars
I purchased this product last June for my daughter to use when we are away from home. I puchased mine for about $10.00 at Toys R Us and for the price I'd say it was money well spent. I hate the thought of my daughter sitting on public toilets (even after spraying it with lysol and using the seat covers) so this was the perfect buy. My daughter is now 5 yrs old, about 42" tall and weighs about 40 lbs. and she still uses this seat with no problems at all. I've never once had a problem with her falling in, even if she's seated far back on it. Not sure why the other reviewers had such a bad time using this product, but in my opinion it's wonderful and the perfect invention for Mom's who are on the go.
Customer Review: It works for us but could be trouble for you Summary: 4 Stars
I purchased this seat for my son and it has worked fairly well for 7.00. I put down a paper seat cover then the potty seat making sure that it is centered well. That is the key to it not collapsing. You also have to put your child on it centered. If you do those two things it is less likely to bend and scoot.
I keep it in a zipper bag inside my diaper bag and when I get home I take it outside and Lysol it thoroughly. We have taken it on several trips and outings now and I have had little (just a few slips) trouble. My son is 32 lbs and it's a good match for us.
Buyer Beware - it is a little flimsy. I can see the trouble if you are not precise with it.
Customer Review: Unsteady Summary: 3 Stars
My daughter loved the characters on the potty seat because she is a big fan of Elmo. I liked it because I could easily fold it and put it in my bag when we need to go places where we might have to use a public restroom. However, the seat is unsteady and slides around on the adult toilet seat. My daughter is scared of it and clings to me and wants to get off right away. She uses the adult toilet at home, but we have one of those potty seats that you can flip up and down like the toilet lid, and it is much more secure. The characters do nothing to make her want to get on the seat. I would probably go for a cheaper version of a fold up potty seat if I were you.
Customer Review: Too tipsy Summary: 2 Stars
I have to agree with others, it isn't very strong. My daughter was excited about the print on the seat, but as soon as we used it out in a public bathroom, she wasn't very happy. It isn't sturdy enough and she wanted off before her business was done. I have decided to put this one away and maybe for the next one we can use it. I recommend the more sturdier ones, but they don't fold up as Convenient as this one. **** I finally found a folding cushy potty seat on another website for $15.00, and I like it much better.** **Look at 2nd picture (not purple one) this is the potty seat I am writing this review about, not sure how this purple one comes up?
