Customer Review: I am so frustrated

My son has been using this potty chair for 1 1/2 years. It has always been a pain to wiggle the seat part off in order to access the receptacle part to dump it out. The seat has four spindly plastic posts under it that fit into four X shaped holes in the potty to put it together again, and recently one post and then two posts have gotten bent just from all the taking apart and putting together of the seat. So now the seat doesn't fit properly on the base unless I use two hands to unbend and refit each plastic piece into the holes each time. When I am in a hurry, this is ridiculous. Further, though my son does like Elmo, I turned the sound off altogether about a year ago (you can choose English, Spanish, or off modes) because when he was sitting down to use the potty his legs kept touching Elmo by accident. While he was sitting patiently trying to concentrate, Elmo kept saying over and over "congratulations! congratulations!" very loudly. I have never used the stupid plastic yellow piece that is supposed to sit at the front of the potty seat to keep boys from spraying out the front. I feared that he would injure himself on it as he tried to sit down or stand up. He knows to sit back far enough that spraying is not usually an issue, anyway. For ease of use, I give the thing a 1; for cuteness, also a 1 because it's obnoxious; for practicality, a zero because it's a stupid design. We have a bjorn potty that is just fabulous in comparison. As for the 3 in 1 part where you're supposed to be able to put the seat on the big toilet, it does fit but it's not very secure feeling. I bought an adult toilet seat with a smaller ring that fits magnetically into the lid and the child can pull it down in order to sit on the big toilet, and I think it is great. At this point, all I think the potty is good for is as a stool. There are much simpler designs out there that are far superior.
