I bought this mat about 3 months ago. Based on the reviews I thought I would try it. There were comments regarding it not sticking to the tub. Well we just moved and this matt worked well with our old bathtub- but at our new home it does not stick to our tub at all and just floats up. I'm not sure why- but it won work now-
So while it worked it was great, but now I cannot use it.
So its 50/50 rather it will work for you.

Although many reviewers complained about the smell I decided to buy this mat anyway because my 11 month old adores Elmo. It does have a strong plastic smell out of the package but I hung it outside for a few hours and the smell was gone. It adheres well to the bathtub floor and stays put. My little guy looks at the mat all through his bath, kicks, splashes and tries to grab the Elmos. I'm very satisfied with this purchase.Customer Review: Smelly and hard to clean...

This product smells really bad. I had to leave it outside for a few days to air it out. It is also really difficult to clean. There are too many grooves where dirt can hide and mold can grow. The water sticks in there even when I hang it up do dry. It's really hard to clean even with a scrub brush. I felt like I would have to power wash it to get it really clean so I just gave up.Customer Review: It's not the best or worst

I have tried several kinds of bath mats and this one so far does the best at staying in place. To avoid the brown slimy stuff that builds up from everday use, I hang it up when done using. I have had this for about a year and several of the fish & shells have fallen off and one elmo has almost completely detached. Someone reviewed this product and said it smelled really bad and didnt stick good. It has stuck fine for me, the smell was a little bad for a day but then was gone, not bad enough not to buy it. My 8 month old doesn't slide on it either. You have to get it a little wet of course for it to get a good grip on the tub. Very vibrant colors also.
