Baby Products Reviews of Sassy Me In The MirrorCustomer Review: Mirror is a lifesaver Summary: 4 Stars
We bought this mirror when our baby was just an infant, and he took to it right away. At first, the primary colors and patterns on the mirror were what attracted his attention. Then, it evolved to spinning the ball on the mirror and playing with the dotted pieces of fabric that hang from it. THe mirror was ideal for use for tummy time, as he would struggle to pull himself up so he could reach a piece of fabric on the mirror or to spin the ball. Before long, it was the mirror itself that enthralled him; he would just stare and stare at the image of himself, not realizing it wasn't another baby! This mirror was truly a lifesaver for us, as it garnered our son's attention when nothing else would. He's now 11 months old and still mesmerized at looking at the mirror image. I'd definitely recommend this to all babies!
Customer Review: BEST AS A CRIB MIRROR Summary: 3 Stars
We bought this mirror specifically for "tummy time." However, tummy time lasts about 2 seconds with this mirror since it is so lightweight and easily knocked over. Our 2 1/2 mo. old constantly topples the mirror onto his head swinging his arms around (and has done this since he was about 3 weeks old). The toys attached to it block part of the mirror. I find myself constantly trying to find something to attach it to and/or rearranging our baby's position so he can even see his relfection. I recommend this mirror be affixed to the crib with its strings (it does have strings, but they're hard to see in the picture above). When babies began to roll, scoot, and crawl around the crib, the soft material definitely does not pose a hazard. When tied to the crib, it's also designed to aim downward.
Customer Review: Baby loves it Summary: 4 Stars
We bought this mirror when my oldest son was born and he loved it. Now my second son is using it and he loves it too. About the ties not being long enough-they're not long enough to tie around my crib's wide slats either, but here's what I did: I tied the ties to link-a-doos and those do slide around the slats and stay put. The "easel" feature that is supposed to make it stand up doesn't really work. The front of the mirror is heavier than the back, so it tends to fall forward on my baby's face. But, I've discovered if I take a normal plastic wipes container that is full and slip it in the middle of the mirror, it evens out the weight and it won't tip over on him. Both my boys have loved it, and even despite the minor annoyances I mentioned above, I think it's worth it!
Customer Review: It's a worthwhile investment Summary: 4 Stars
I bought this toy for my daughter when she was born. I was looking for crib toys and I chose this because it had both the mirror and toys, could also be used free standing or attached to the crib and because I read that infants prefer high contrasting colors like red black and white. She is now 6 mos and is still using this. It is attached to her crib and she can frequently be found talking to herself and admiring her profile in the mirror. In recent months she has begun to pull and play with the attached toys. I echo what others have said about it not being very sturdy in the upright position and the ties being short if the rails of your crib are thick. Otherwise, I have no complaints about this product and consider it to be a worthy infant toy.
Customer Review: Wonderful gift Summary: 5 Stars
This is one of our favorite toys, especially for tummy time. My daughter (6 mo) has been using it since she was only a few weeks old and now she forgets that she is on her tummy because she is so distracted by the mirror. Even before she would look at herself in the mirror, she loved playing with all of the toys on the side. She chews on the detachable birdie endlessly. The only complaints: it doesn't stand up very well-easily pulled over by baby. I also wish that they had included something other than the picture pocket on the other side. I still haven't gotten around to putting one in, but I don't think that that would provide much entertainment anyway.
A definite must for tummy time and general play time - well worth the $!!!
