Customer Review: Mirror, Mirror, On the Crib... Who's The Fairest One of All!?
Summary: 5 Stars

I just had my baby girl on December 29, 2005. In 3 days, she'll be a month old. I recently bought this mirror, because my husband and I noticed that she is (already) very attentive to objects. Especially, when it comes to other people. When she's crying and sees the "Other Person" in the mirror, she stops and gazes and gazes with amazement until she remembers what she's crying about... LOL! She loves to look at the colors, as well. I think, it's a wonderful starter toy for newborns and it will grow with them too!

I personally love the mirror myself, but not to use for my personal use. Just because it's colorful... It has toys that the baby can discover and play with. You can hang it on the crib straight up or angle it. You can take it off the crib to place near the baby, when the baby is old enough to crawl around. On the back of the mirror, you put photos of your loved ones.

NOTE:

If you're looking for a starter toy for your newborn, this is the one!

Customer Review: Peek-a-Boo I see another baby in the mirror
Summary: 4 Stars

Unlike some of the other mirrors for babies this one is pretty low-key, no flashing lights and not a lot of noise. That being said the Me in Mirror is still an excellent toy for your newborn. This was one of the first things that I bought for my daughter, toywise. Even if your little baby hasn't mastered grabbing at things, they should still enjoy this toy. After all babies are fascinated by faces.

I use the Me in The Mirrir primarily as a crib mirror, when I had used it as a toy for her during tummy time, she had managed to almost pull it onto her head. About the warning for a choking hazard: this is concerning safety pins, I never used the safety pins, instead I tie it to my daughter's crib.

My daughter enjoys carrying a conversation with herself, of course she probably thinks that there is another baby. It is a lot of fun just watching her look at herself in the mirror and laugh. She also enjoys playing with the gummy ring and the rattles that are attached to the mirror.

Customer Review: My daughter's favorite toy when she was younger
Summary: 4 Stars

My baby LOVED this toy when she was younger. She loved to stare at herself in the mirror. I propped it up next to her changing table as nice distraction while I changed her. Then, she started playing with the ball and became obsessed with it. A few weeks later, she discovered how much fun the velcroed bird was to take off every time I stuck it back up. About a month later, she started putting the ring into her mouth and gumming it. So, it's a toy that grows with your baby a little bit. She still plays with it at 6 months, but not as much.

I would have given it 4 stars, if it weren't for the simple fact that, unlike what the product description claims, the darn thing will NOT sit up on its own. It also has these very short straps that are supposed to allow you to tie it to the crib...they are much too short to do that.

If those things were changed, this would be a perfect toy and would be given to every expectant mother I knew!

Customer Review: OK for what it is
Summary: 3 Stars

Bright colors and tactile toys make it an eye catcher and it has a nice large mirror area which is reasonably non-distorting compared to other similar products I looked at. Baby likes to grab at the ring and chew and shake it around for the noises but she doesn't seem particularly attracted by the mirror though she loves mirror play in general. I think this is because it is hard to position it well for her. Tied to the crib she can only look at it sideways laying down and the easel feature is very unstable - it doesn't open very far and as soon as she touches it, it falls over. It's actually turning into more of a kick toy than anything else, which is where she gets most amusement value out of it. The most irritating thing for me is the tie fastening - I have to take it off the crib every nap and bed time otherwise she keeps herself awake with it, and it's a nuisance to keep tying and untying it it, velcro would have been much more practical.

Customer Review: Nice Crib Toy, Average Floor Toy
Summary: 4 Stars

If your baby likes to play in the crib, this is a great little toy. We've had it for 5 years now. Our first played with a lot after waking, which was nice. I like that it's simple and tactile and no bells and whistles (literally and figuratively). The angle thing is nice for when they are still just laying on their back. There is also a place on the back side to put in a photo or family picture or other custom insert and you can have that side facing the baby sometimes if you want. After a few years, a lot of the "spring" comes out of those litle "tails" on the left side, but they are still fun enough.

As a floor toy it leaves a lot to be desired because it falls over. I would not buy it for that purpose. It could be played with lying flat on the floor though.

Good baby gift for a 0-18 month old. We gave it to several people after liking ours.
