Customer Review: dangerous for older babies when tied to the side of crib
Summary: 1 Stars

my son loves this toy. he started out playing with the toys around the edges more than the mirror. perhaps the mirror part is a bit small for a younger baby. now that he's older, he looks in the mirror a lot more and laughs. when it was on his crib, he loved kicking at it hard and making it rattle. it is pretty durable. he also pulled on the toys hard, and the stitching is very good. the major drawback with this toy is that it's dangerous to have on the crib for older babies. this mirror tilts down by unvelcroing the fabric so that babies that are laying down can still see themselves. unfortunatetly this feature helped my son climb out of his crib at nine months. when the mirror is tilted down, the sides are open. it should be closed with tight fabric. this is a perfect foothold for an active baby. my son fell about four feet onto the floor, and apparently, he bounces. he didn't get hurt. the box says not to put this toy freestanding in the crib as it could help a child climb out. it says nothing about a child using it to climb out while it's tied to the side of the crib. the bottom line is i used this toy as it was designed to be used and my son could have been injured or killed. we were lucky. i could have kicked myself for not seeing how he could use it to get out before it actually happened. i hope this review helps other parents. as soon as your child can pull up to stand, take it out of the crib completely. use it on the floor instead.

Customer Review: My Family in the Mirror too
Summary: 5 Stars

My son was going to go to daycare at 8 weeks and needed something for his crib there. I looked around for a mirror or crib toy and purchased Me in the Mirror specifically for the yellow side with the 6in. x 6 in. plastic window. I took digital pictures of each of the members of the family ( each sister, mommy, daddy, and the dog) and cropped them to be a smiling head shot that was square. I then printed them to be 6" X 6" to fit in to the plastice window. I put each of the pictures in the plastic window stacked with their name on the back. I hung this in my son's crib with links so that it would be at eye level for my son. When he wakes up from a nap one of us is always there smiling at him. Because the photos are protected by the plastic, he can touch them, kiss them and not hurt the photos. The daycare workers change the pictures with each nap, moving the front one to the back of the stack or sometimes I change them when I drop him off at the start of the day. There are also days when I will turn it over so that he can look at himself as and play with the mirror and toys as well. The daycare workers say that he wakes up, smiles and talks to whomever is there beside him for awhile giving them extra time. I think it is a great way to stay connected to him while he is at daycare. Since we dropped it off, two other parents have purchased Me in the Mirror and have done the same thing. I highly recommend this product.

Customer Review: Great toy for babies of age 2 months and up.
Summary: 4 Stars

My 3 month old son loves this mirror. I bought it for him when he wasn't even two months, once I placed it in front of him he could not stop staring at it. We use it on the changing table and in his bassinet; basically it goes every where with us. It can be used as a great distraction if you have a baby who is very clingy (like my baby), while he is staring at it, you can use that time to fill up your dish washer. I was also very surprised about how cheap this toy is; these days all baby toys are extremely over priced and this one is definitely not.

However, there is one negative feature about this toy. My son from the beginning loved the rotating ball but he can not play with it without me holding the mirror. The two ties that the mirror has are only located on one side of the mirror, so if I tie the mirror to the crib then the ball ends up at the bottom and my son does not see it or can not reach for it. Also, if I place it standing the way it appears on the picture (with the ball on top), he would unintentionally pull on it, which causes the mirror to fall on his face (not a good thing). I would have given 5 stars if the manufacturer thought of placing four ties (one on each corner), that way I can tie it upside down, vertically or horizontally.

I would still strongly recommend this toy as it is a lot of fun and it is very good for babies' development.

Customer Review: Great addition to the crib
Summary: 5 Stars

I've had this mirror hanging in my son's crib since he was born. During his second month he started looking at his reflection and touching some of the toys which are attached to the sides of the mirror. The frame is soft and has fabric with many bright attractive colors, a spinnng rattle, a teething ring, a sqeaky sun toy, and soft creatures or twists to pull on. There is also a sleeve for a picture on the side opposite the mirror. My son is eight months old now and he enjoys sitting up in his crib and playing with all of the things around the mirror. He also enjoys looking at himself in the mirror or my reflection when I am behind him.

I have just two minor complaints. The ties that come with the mirror are not long enough to tie around the four-inch rail my crib has. I used some twine which I really hope is safe for my baby. Also, there are velcro closures to put the two sides together instead of letting them hang at an angel. I like the angel so that my baby can see his reflection while lying down. If he bats at the mirror, however, the velcro easily closes and the mirror is no longer at an angel. I stuck a washcloth over the velcro to prevent this.

Customer Review: My daughter LOVED this!!
Summary: 5 Stars

When my daughter was a few weeks old, my husband and I went to the store to get her a mirror, because we'd read that babies like to look at faces. We chose this one because of the fact that it can either tie to the side of the crib or fold out to stand upright on the floor. The toys were also a big factor in the sell, as they meant that she could keep playing with the mirror when she wasn't content to just stare at it anymore.
We took it home, and she loved it! We laid her on the floor and set it up next to her, and she stared at her reflection and reached for the baby and was pretty happy for quite a while, just looking at herself. As she got older and discovered her hands, she started playing with the toys, the bird being her favorite. It has a bell in it, so she'd shake it to hear the bird.
Now that she's 9 months old, she still loves it. The mirror hangs in her crib now, and when she wakes up in the morning, she talks to her reflection. This was definitely a good buy and I would (and have!) refer it to anyone.
