Baby Products Reviews of Safety 1st Tubside Bath Seat

Customer Review: It's OK
Summary: 3 Stars

I bought this when my daughter began to try to roll over in her tub. We live overseas and this doesn't fir out tub correctly. It suits the purpose but I have to watch her. If she leans to far forward to get a toy it WILL tip.
Otherwise it's a great idea and MUCH easier and safer than just setting them in the tub.

Customer Review: Nice seat
Summary: 4 Stars

I needed a seat for my son who is 5 months and liked to throw himself around in the tub. I works pretty well. He is able to lean forward to play with his toys or lean back to look around without me worrying about hitting his head on the tub. It folds up nicely for storage. The only thing I don't like is sometimes getting him out I feel like I'm scratching his legs (depending on how cooperative he is). His knees have rubbed on the plastic and turned red for a little bit, but no actual scratches. Overall, a must-have for a active babies.

Customer Review: Good value

I like this seat. Its easy to assemble and even easier to "install", a winner!

Customer Review: surprised this didn't rate better!
Summary: 5 Stars

We loved this thing!! Kinda surprised by all the bad reviews. I used it with both my sons (and the one I bought held up and lasted with them both). Yes, it will only fit securely on a standard size tub, and tile or anything added to the out side will cause this to not fit right and should not be used! Loved how it easily swiveled around. My son loved to be able to sit up and play with his toys. Would buy it all over again!

Customer Review: Unable to be cleaned--not so safe!
Summary: 1 Stars

I got this seat for my baby and used it until she was 14 months. It actually served us quite well in spite of retaining and leaking water. You have to turn it over and side to side to get excess water out of it after use and even then you have to put in on a towel or something. The seat rotates so you can have your child facing any direction. Also, the elbow piece can be turned inward so that it doesn't take up as much space when you aren't using it.
The problem with it was that when my little girl pooped in the tub there was no way to take it apart and clean it! My hubby tried and even with a screw driver or other tools there's no way to get it apart to properly clean it and so we had to throw it away. :( Because of this I will not buy another.
Also, if you fill up the tub too much it will float up a bit causing it to tilt forward--even with the elbow pad in place and even with a child that weighs 20 lbs. BEWARE OF THIS! Your child could tilt forward while in the seat and, unable to get out, get stuck and drown-- although, of course, you'd NEVER leave them unattended.
I just think that because of the elbow pad that goes over the side parents might think they can leave their child safely for a minute to get the phone or something and you CANNOT!!!!
I don't like the false sense of security this might give some people.
