Loved the idea of a magnetic lock system, but the design is not robust enough. I am fairly handy but installation was frustrating. I tried no less than 3 times very carefully aligning the provided template, drilling, carefully tightening all the screws only to find that the lock mechanism did not engage perfectly and the door popped open with a little pull. The magnet part worked fine with the extension, that was not the problem. Adjusting the catch forward and back, I could not get the latch part to seat properly and if it is off by a few degrees it will collapse and fail to lock the cabinet. I am trying another manufacturer to see if their magnet system is a little easier to install.Customer Review: 100% Baby Proof

These are great locks and they work just fine. Infact our boy stopped pulling at the cabinets after he got frustrated with them and now ignores them. The people who say thy don't work did not install them right as they will work on all cabinet doors. The locks come with extenders to increase the reach of the magnetic field. They do take some time to install, but not that much more than the plain latch lastic locks. The trick is having a spare magnet for each room. one for the bathroom, one for the kithcen, etc. The magnets are expensive ([price]) if you need a replacement. I find just leaving the magnet stuck on the refrigerator or stuck to the steel door buck in the bathrrom works great.Customer Review: Great concept. Works for 1.125" or thinner cabinets. Sucks otherwise.

I bought this to defeat the prying hands of my 2 year old. I lost.
The device is phenomenal in concept and even drilling holes did not deter me. I was able to get this to work fabulously for cabinets and pieces of wood under 1.125" thick--before you add the "Extension Slug". In a sentence, any cabinet thicker than 1.125" is entirely non-functional.
The magnet that comes with the lock is great and strong--and activates the lock consistently across the 3 packs of locks I bought through 1/8" of wood so long as you're not using the extension slug. The extension pin, however is fully functional. Once you add the extension slug, the device stops working entirely.

I'm not very handy around the house, and usually end up screwing up installations like these, but I must say I'm impressed. I followed the instructions carefully (which were slightly complex, I'll admit), but was able to successfully install them on 12 cabinets with only one mistake on my part (drilled right through one cabinet!). However, we're extremely pleased with the locks themselves. We've only had them in place for a few days, and have already become comfortable opening them quickly with one hand. All-in-all, I liked the 'template' installation process, love the concept of the magnetic key, and have been very pleased with the product.Customer Review: Mom of a 2-year old

These are the best cabinet/drawer locks on the market! My husband says they were a little challenging to install at first, but after installing a couple, he became a pro. We have them on every base cabinet and drawer in our kitchen. I just bought some more for our bathroom cabinets as well. My husband figures the only way to open the cupboards without the magnetic key would be to use a crowbar. These locks are well worth the money.P.S. A friend of mine, who happens to be an obstetrics nurse and a pre-natal course instructor, tested these locks on my cupboards. She says they should be mandatory in every household where there are babies.
