I first used these locks 7 years ago when my first child was born. I love them, they work great! You don't have the ugly plastic on the outside of the cabinets and unlike the other plastic "safety" locks, you can't just pull hard enough and open the cabinet or draw. I plan on getting more on our new cabinets for my 6 mo old. This little hint might come in handy for other parents....when your child goes through the throwing-things-in-the-potty phase...keep a wire hanger handy to pull the magnet out. It doesn't flush but it gets pretty far down there.Customer Review: OK lock but I have problems with it

Like everyone else said, the instructions are terrible and it is really hard to install. I managed to install it to a perfect fit and it works ok but if you pull hard enough the door will still open. My son is pretty strong for a 16 month old and if he really tried, I think he would be able to open it with a little elbow grease. It is an OK product but I wonder if others have the same problem I have with pulling it with a little strength and having the cabinet doors still be able to open? I would love to hear from others and their comments on my problem.Customer Review: Great lock system!

Just like the others have all stated, prepare to study the instructions for a while before drilling. I'm very handy with this sort of thing, but the totloc installation is not particularly intuitive.
After the learning curve is found the rest is a cinch and worth it. It's a great lock system and completely hidden from view. The bypass switch is great for cooking as long as your child is not in the kitchen. Just make sure that you flip the bypass back after you are finished. -Forgetting to do that has always haunted me...

We purchased these for use in our new house since we couldn't find any that would keep our twins out of our existing cabinets. My husband (the builder) hated installing them because of the depth needed to drill into the cabinets but now that they are on, he loves them! They take a little getting used to but once you get the hang of it, there is no problem getting the doors open. And I love the "turn off" feature too. We recommend these to anyone in the market for locks. They are worth the time & effort to install them.Customer Review: GONNA GET SOME MORE

I FOUND THESE VERY HANDY WITH MY SON WHO HAS BROKE ALL BUT TWO OF THE OLD FASHIONED STLYE LOCKS. HE JUST YANKS THE DOOR OPEN AND BREAKS THE LATCH OFF. I FOUND THEM A LITTLE HARD TO INSTALL AT FIRST BUT ONCE I FIGURED IT OUT WITH THE TEMPLATE PROVIDED THEY ARE NOT REALLY THAT HARD. I PLAN ON GETTING MORE TO REPLACE THE BROKEN ONES NOW THAT I AM PREGNANT WITH MY THIRD CHILD. WE JUST PUT THE MAGNET ON THE TOP FRONT OF THE FRIDGE SO IT DOESN'T GET LOST AND NO LITTLE HANDS (EVEN IF HE CLIMBS ON A CHAIR) CAN REACH IT.
