I use this for cleaning out our cats litter boxes twice a day and then take the bag out once a week and it does a great job of keeping the nasty smells in. I haven't gotten one of the carbon filters for it, but bet it would help the one time the smell escapes... when you open it to add more waste. We use to throw the waste out in the garage trash, but then the garage would reek. I don't know how we did without this thing and wow for under [...] bucks it was a steal! I don't have any idea how this would perform when used with diapers, but it is great for cat waste and I have 6 cats ;)

I like how small it is. Keeps odors down. I dont think it can or anything for that matter can completely eliminate odors. This container does keep the smell to a less than noticeable smell until you open it to add to it.
This container also does not come with the blue lid, its white instead. That doesnt bother me, just a heads up. Also, if you dont use the peddle to open the container it is pretty easy to open from the top/lid. I use this as a kitty litter mess container and use regular plastic shopping bags. I dont have any complaints. Does the trick.

This is a very small diaper pail and while I haven't used it yet (bought it for the arrival of my 2nd child and didn't want to end up with 2 giant diaper pails - figured this could be converted into a cat litter trash can afterward), it seems like there are no mechanisms for keeping the "scent" in. We'll see though...It does not have a blue lid as others have described and is all a white/grey monotone color. Have the diaper champ for my older son which I have found to be a very functional diaper pail - large, keeps smell down as much as possible, etc. Customer Review: Not Big Enough and Foot Pedal Awkward

This pail could be bigger. I was surprised at how small it actually is when it arrived. The one thing I disliked the most was the foot pedal that opens the lid. The pedal is narrow and works best if you have a very small foot. If you wear slippers to keep your feet warm your foot might be too large to fit into the pedal area. The pail will scoot away from you as you try to fit your foot into the pedal to open the lid, which can be very frustrating during diaper changes. The pail is very low to the ground. It is not really large enough for those who cloth diaper. If it was about six inches taller and 4 inches wider it would be a much more sufficient size. Also, the pedal mechanism needs to be larger and deeper to accommodate larger feet, especially for dads. With some small improvements this pail could be very promising. We are looking for a larger pail and might end up making our own out of something from Rubber Maid.Customer Review: Great for cloth diapers!

We've used this pail for 2 months, and have only minor complaints... It is quite short, so I have to lean over pretty far to get under the lid. Also, it's difficult to get the lid on tight, and if too loose, the pedal won't open the top all the way and I have to lift it by hand.
Because we cloth diaper, the small size is a good thing. It holds about 12-14 cloth diapers, which makes for good timing to do laundry. It only smells when open (I don't have any air freshener/filter in it), and is easy to use when the lid is on tight. Cost is right, and I'm glad we didn't spend more than we needed to (babies are expensive enough).
