Baby Products Reviews of Safety 1st Potty 'n Step StoolCustomer Review: I've seen better Summary: 3 Stars
We bought this potty for our daughter when she was about 15-months-old. The design seemed great. The construction was good and sturdy, nothing broken. The seat DOES snap onto the base. It snaps over a little lip on the front of the base. Not too difficult to figure out. Unfortunately, our daughter, now 2-years-old, is very tiny for her age, barely 20 lbs. The hole in the seat is a bit too big for her, making the seat uncomfortable. Also, she is a little short so her feet don't touch the ground when she is sitting on it, which also makes it a little difficult for her seat herself. I've been doing a little more research and think that due to her size, the BabyBjorn Little Potty would be a better potty for her and its even less expensive than this one.
Customer Review: not great at all....just a pain! Summary: 2 Stars
we bought this seat --- knowing we'd need it with two kids potty training at the same time (and one who will potty train soon after.....)...there just aren't enough toilets in the house!....HOWEVER --- this seat serves as an additional toilet - when we need it....but, we really don't LIKE using it. both of my potty trainers would rather sit on a ring on the toilet....and this one seems very uncomfortable --- as they usually end up fidgeting on it - and complaining that their legs and butts hurt. you know potty-training - kids end up sitting a long time waiting for something to happen....this seat just isn't accomodating to that. we've since nixed the potty - and use just the step stool - which is okay.
Customer Review: Absolutely Horrible Summary: 1 Stars
Who on Earth designed this potty seat? Nothing about it works. I bought this one for my twin 23-month old daughters after searching four separate stores. Only by looking at the box, it appeared the most attractive, and sized just right as I need two of them. I did not want anything too flashy. Right away, I was very discouraged that the seat does not pull out in front for easy disposal. Secondly, the potty fell forward when they sat on it by themselves. And lastly, I'd love to know the trick for getting the seat to lock in the base, so as to not hurt your own fingers when having to open it to empty the bowl. I can't discourage this seat enough. Again, I can't imagine a worse product.
Customer Review: Great little potty chair Summary: 5 Stars
My son is 3 and uses this and in fact we liked it so much, we bought another one for the upstairs bathroom! It's convenient, portable, easy to dump out contents from the chamber and we just rinse out and set back in the chair. The rails help child to get on and off. I have not used on top of a toilet, I just wanted it as a potty chair or a step stool, so I cannot comment on that part. It does not tip on us. I have no problems with it whatsoever. Yes, the splash guard can fall in, but we just wash off and snap back into place and I try to teach my son to just point downward when going to the bathroom so he'll eventually not have to use it at all.
Customer Review: fantastic for keeping in the trunk of the car Summary: 5 Stars
This potty is perfect for keeping in the trunk of the car for emergencies on the go. The lid closes, so it fits into the trunk with no problem, and you can throw a package of wipes into it to have handy. Put a 2.5 gallon Hefty zip-close bag over the removable pot so the child can urinate right into the bag, then you can zip up the bag and toss it. Easy and clean!! There is also room to fold up 5 or 6 more bags and store them under the cover. I never go ANYWHERE without this potty for my son! The pee guard does fall off easily, but you don't really need it and I threw it away once my son could aim downward into the bowl.
