I have 4 of these and they are very sturdy. I have rowdy 2 year old twin boys and the gates have survived intense beatings from walkers, tricycles, and body slams for over a year. Although my kids are excellent climbers, they have not been able to find a foot-hold on this gate. Note: the rubber pressure points are snug and have removed paint from some door frames upon release.Customer Review: Good value for the money

I bought two of these gates for the top and bottom of my staircase about six months ago and am VERY happy with them. My 17 month old son and Rottweiler have definately tried their best to open, break, and beat down these gates without success :)
As previous reviewers state, the gate MUST be hardware mounted in order to be used as a swing gate, but this wasn't an issue for me since I needed to hardware mount the gate at the top of the stairs no matter what. The gate's lift & lock mechanism is a bit tricky, but easy to use once mastered. My toddler has so far been unable to climb, open, or knock down this gate. Overall I'm pleased with this purchase.

I bought one of these last year and loved it so much that I had to replace my other older style gates with it. It is extremely easy to use. I can do it one handed, which is a HUGE plus especially with daycare. I WOULD recommend this to anyone!!!Customer Review: maryb

THis gate is great. Easy to use. The description is correct. Perhaps because I've used this type of gate before, I understood the description. I needed a swing gate, and one that would open easily. The installation was easy enough, and the gate opens and closes easily. If installed properly, it is perfectly safe for toddlers.
