Customer Review: Love it! Bought 2 and convinced others to do the same!
Summary: 5 Stars

I bought a couple of these gates a year ago just before my baby was born. There was a dual purpose behind this gate. 1-to keep the dogs out of the areas the baby was going to be in. 2-to keep the baby out of places he shouldn't be.
So far I haven't had too many issues with it.
The "worst" part I would say I have with this gate is that it's difficult to push down sometimes. The handle requires a little bit of pressure to get it into place-but it's not too bad.

Sometimes I have problems pushing the gate into place. It sometimes doesn't want to sit perfect against the wall. The way we remedy it is by putting our foot under the bottom, then pushing the handle down. It usually takes care of whatever problem it's having.

We haven't mounted it-and don't plan on it. It's been great the way we use it. It's quick and easy to put it into place and take it out of doorways. It usually gets put into place and taken down at least 5 times a day (in between the kitchen and the living room)

I don't understand why other people don't love this gate, but I do.

Customer Review: non user friendly...gathering dust
Summary: 2 Stars

I bought this gate for four reasons: it looked sturdy, it looked portable, easy to use, plus the price was right ($20 at Target). Well, it is portable, and was reasonably priced...but that's it. Since I can't find the receipt...it's now in my basement waiting to be donated. My husband doesn't mind it as much as I do, but it's just awkward, hard to use, not sturdy and even has some sharp plastic edges kids could cut their hands on. Also, my kids have already knocked it down (my husband said I didn't have it put in properly), but if I didn't, it's just too much of a pain to have to deal with when used as a pressure gate. The good old fashioned wood gate is better in that regard. That's what I'm using now. One other note, it's acutally not very tall so if your kid is taller than about 34" they might be able to climb over it.

Customer Review: toddlers crash right through
Summary: 2 Stars

This gate is a real piece of junk. (I have 3 of these things- bought at the same time b.c they were cheap.) It tore the paint off the sides of my wall, it marks the parts of the wall where the paint actually remains, my son bursts through it with minimal effort, the handle is really difficult to operate... If your door frame is the slightest bit uneven or off in any way, the pressure thing is totally useless. We are constantly tripping over it b/c the pressure points don't stay pressed to the wall. It just doesn't work well. I have never used it as a wall mounted gate though so maybe that works better. (I have lived in apartments for a while and need to use the pressure mounts so as not to drill in the wall.) Long story short, I don't recommend this gate.

Customer Review: surprisingly good
Summary: 4 Stars

I purchased this item to keep a small puppy confined in a room while I'm not at home. My main worries were that the item would be a hassle to take down/put up and also that, being a curious sort, my dog would chew apart the gate. After a couple of weeks, neither of these are still issues. My dog hasn't tried to chew the gate at all and, more importantly, it is very simple to move from open to shut when using the pressure lock. I grew up in a house with a lot of baby gates (my mom has a home daycare) and they were all a pain in the neck (hard to open/shut, flimsy, broke after mild use). I'm not sure if this gate is merely representative of new models of baby gates or if it represents the best out there. Regardless, I'm very happy with my purchase!

Customer Review: Perfect for uneven doors
Summary: 5 Stars

We live in an older home with uneven doors and originally bought a cheaper set of 2 (don't remember the brand). That's when we found out our doors are uneven and had to return those.
We love, love, love this "gate" (our is the clear model). It comes with a mounting option, but if you don't want to screw anything onto your doorframe, it still works great without the mounting, you just won't be able to swing it open. If you choose not to mount, the gate suctions easily to any doorframe and becomes more portable to use anywhere else in the house.
Another reviewer rated this gate on the fact that it can't swing if not mounted, that's common sense. This is a great gate and you don't even have to spend a lot!
