Baby Products Reviews of Safety 1st High-Def Digital Video MonitorCustomer Review: Not high def Summary: 2 Stars
I bought this to keep an eye on my daughter while she sleeps. Her room is in one end of home, and ours in the other end. She still sleeps in crib in our room, but is about ready to go to her room. We set up this monitor yesterday, and were quite surprised. The image is not clear, and the color is poor. And if you expect high-def to be the same as on your TV, you will be disappointed. Overall, I wish we had tested it upon arrival, if we had we would have quickly returned the product. As it is, we bought it two months ago, but just set it up after we decorated her room to ready for her moving in to the big girl room. My husband was particularly disappointed and said a basic security camera would have done a better job. Also, the sound kind of tunes in and out. [...].
Customer Review: Best I have found Summary: 4 Stars
I have been using this monitor for the last 3 months and I am very happy with it. It is the only "wireless video baby monitor" that has worked in my large home. I am about to order a second set for the new baby we are expecting in a couple of months.
After reading all reviews I have found that most of the good and bad that is written about this item I have experienced. But to me it is a trade off for the price and the fact that it is a wireless baby monitor not a hard wired home security system. Yes, I have had to re-boot my Wi-Fi system twice in 3 months. Yes, the battery life is only between 5-6 hours. Yes, the picture on the monitor is small and much clearer in the day than in night vision mode. As expected...

Customer Review: Small screen, yet "big" picture! Summary: 5 Stars
We purchased this monitor to replace a monitor that we'd been having trouble with. The other monitor gave a poor picture and lots of static... this monitor, however, is CRYSTAL clear for both video and audio.
We've also been quite happy with the option to block out "low" noises at night... i.e. we don't hear him rollover, but we'd hear him cough or cry. The ability to zoom in is fantastic.
Finally, while the screen is very tiny, you see quite a bit... our old monitor only covered the crib, this shows a view of his entire room.
UPDATED: Product died after about a year of heavy use, yet Safety First replaced it with no questions asked! They even covered shipping of old and new unit. An excellent brand!
Customer Review: The best I've found so far Summary: 4 Stars
I should preface this by saying we live in a 1450 sq. foot condo.
I first tried the First Alert. Too much noise static. Then we got the Summer Infant with 2.5" screen. It was defective from the get-go.
We have had no static or interference with the Safety first. You need a lot of light to see the image in color, but that's really not important to me.
It goes into "sleep" mode, where the image blanks out and comes on when my daughter makes noise (or when I manually turn it back on). This feature didn't even work on the previous monitors I tried.
Our condo is small, but we are upstairs and our daughter is downstairs and we get a clear picture through a ceiling and several walls.
Customer Review: great monitor still a bit pricey Summary: 5 Stars
My primary monitor is the summer infant video monitor. While i have no interference at home (in nyc, shocker) when we travel we find that we get some interference at various places. The worst in Florida. I went out and bought this monitor and there is no interference and it has a better range then any of the other monitors. I temporarily was using the graco audio monitor which was good as well but the range was not as good as the safety 1st. It is also a nice feature that both units can operate on batteries. I am posting this after one night of use but incase anyone is shopping for the holiday i figured i would post. While it is the most expensive monitor it is pretty cool and works well.
