Well I think this is a great booster! I need a second one. I take care of kids at home too and have put 4-5 months old to 3 year olds in it and it's the best. So what if you have to take it apart to clean it? At least after that you know it's CLEAN!
It might be hard to travel around with it, but I haven't had a problem. It's also dropped, but nothing broke, like one of the review said. It might get scratched, but so what? I've had it for 2 years now going strong and it's great. From using it on chairs to the floor, it comes apart, stores well, and I can even walk around with it to my neighbor closed up, with out the tray.
It's an excellent chair and it's a excellent price too. If you want to go and get a "higher quality" one that reclines, has padding, - have fun cleaning the padding when the kids are older - just get a high chair then. How can you recline a booster on a chair?!

I bought this seat to travel with my toddler and found it extremely annoying and difficult to use. The tray stuck and never loosened up and was difficult to get my child in and out of. Also, it was close to impossible to keep clean, unless you unstrapped it and took it completely apart after every use. It was very unwieldy to travel with. It folded up, but didn't stay together and so was not very portable. Because it was so cumbersome, it ended up getting dropped on a laminate floor and promptly broke. The cheap plastic its made of shattered at the bottom corner where the side and seat fit, so now it is in the garbage where it belongs. I only owned it for five months and used it barely three times a month for the average. Yes, it was cheap, but as they say, the poor man buys everything twice, and now I'm out fifteen dollars and have to buy another booster.Customer Review: Doesn't work with all table tops.

We can't use this at our table!! Our table has a support that runs along close to the edges that drops the clearance by about 3 inches. This is not a problem when you are sitting on a chair but when you use the booster seat there is only an inch or two for our son's legs to fit through and it will not work. I guess this would be a problem with any booster seat but still - it would have been nice to know. So the booster seat we bought is sitting in the living room right now and getting no use whatsoever. We can use it at our outdoor table which has a tabletop that extends out past all the supports but at this point our 20 month old would rather sit on a regular chair even if his shoulders barely clear the table. I think I will just use a phonebook when he needs a boost.Customer Review: Great Seat!

I had purchased this seat in it's original color (red/yellow/blue) back in 2002 for our grandson instead of a highchair. His mom purchased one for the same reason, having no room for a highchair in her house. Mine is now being used for our third grandchild, age 6 months, and easily can be used for the 2 year old without the tray so he can sit at the table. Easy to take off the chair, two clips. Easy to wash at the sink. Tray fits in the dishwasher. Portable. We take it along on vacation for the grandkids and have used it in restaurants. I've reccomended this to all of my clients, as I work with newborn babies and their families.Customer Review: great buy

We originally purchased this chair 7 years ago, same design different colors then. After two more babies we thought to get a new portable chair for travel, the new ones come with so much more, or so I thought. I bought one with a removable tray thinking that would be nice and-no way. As soon as our daughter figured out that she could fling the tray off it was a waste of space and made a bigger mess!!!( Now she can throw all the food at once!) I miss our simple back-to-basics chair like this one. Also be careful most of the other chairs are not as height adjustable as this model. This is a great economical and reliable choice.
