I was impressed with this thermometer as soon as I was putting it together and reading the directions. It has interchangeable thermometer tips to test for oral, rectal, and underarm temperatures. It comes with a thick plastic ziplock bag organizer that protects each piece. On each tip end (oral, rectal, or underarm), there is a general connector like on a digital camera-to-computer cable connector. I would say that is with technology. It only takes about 5 seconds for the device to read the temperature. I love this since it always takes other thermometers forever to take a temperature. There is also an indicator light that tells you when the temperature is within fever range. You don't have to remember which body temp is which normal temp range. I definately recommend this product to anyone with an infant who can't hold still while you try to see if they have a fever.
