Baby Products Reviews of Safety 1St Comfy Cushy 3-in-1 PottyCustomer Review: DO NOT buy for a boy! Summary: 1 Stars
The seat of this is NOT nonporous. It is a spongy material that absorbs the urine. My son got a blistery rash on his bottom after using this seat three times. Thinking it was because the seat was new, I washed it in a few different cleansers trying to get the rash to go away. But I didn't realize at first that it was simply absorbing everything I washed it in. So his rash got worse before it dawned on me to squeeze the dang thing. I have notified CPSC, and they have in turn notified Safety 1st, but I have not heard back what's going to happen. It's possible a girl wouldn't have the same problem, because her urine flow is generally downward.
Customer Review: Seat too small Summary: 2 Stars
We thought this would be great: looked easy to clean, and a super soft seat, seemed durable. Then we had our son sit on it. The seat was so small that when he was sitting so that he was "under" the splash guard, his back end was on the seat, not over the seat hole. He wasn't going to be able to go #1 and #2 without maneuvering in between to make sure it all made it into the hole. Returned it and found something larger. If you have a kid with a tiny tush, it might work for you, and I would guess that it wouldn't be a problem for a little girl. (My son was in the 98th percentile in height and weight at age 2.)
Customer Review: Boy torture chair Summary: 1 Stars
This thing is just awful. My wife bought it for our son, and whenever i try to get him to use it, i have to push him back on it so he'll fit on the chair. The top of the cup cuts right into the middle of his wang, so he has to sit back just to fit in it. When i try to push him back on ht, it slides into the wall and the lid swings up and stabs him on the back with its hard edges. This thing has the absolute worst design ever. Maybe if your kid has a newborn-sized butt and a microscopic wang he'll fit, but otherwise this thing is totally useless. If anything it's taught my son to be afraid of the toilet.
Customer Review: Unfortunate Design Summary: 2 Stars
We bought this potty for our 2 year old son who was beginning to potty train. In most ways it worked great. The shield is nice for a little boy, it was easy to take apart and the top clicks very securely onto our toilet. That being said, now that we've had it for a couple of months we've realized that cleaning it is impossible. The sponge seat soaks up everything and we haven't been able to get the smell of urine out or get it completely dry. We'll have to buy another seat as a replacement because the smell is just too gross. It's very unfortunate because we love the seat in every other way.
Customer Review: I actually love this potty Summary: 5 Stars
1. If you wash it right away I have had no trouble with stink in the cushion.
2. The deflector works great for my son.
3. It closes & is a stool & not just a potty sitting in my bathroom.
4. The seat can be used on the adult toilet which is great.
5. There is enough height to this thing & enough room in the basin to hold the sizable #2 that my son generates, smaller all-in-one potties are no good for this.
6. When training my son sometimes sits a LONG time, so the cushion is not a bad idea.
7. Easy to empty & clean.
8. Fantastic price right now.
