Customer Review: Foggy and unsafe

First of all, you should not install this in your car as it can become a projectile in an accident (as the police officer who installed my car seat told me.)
Second of all, When you buy this mirror it comes with a "protective" piece of plastic over the mirror that you have to remove to use the mirror, but when you remove it, you see that the mirror is very foggy. I tried cleaning the mirror with water and a soft cloth, thinking that it was just some adhesive from the plastic, but it made it worse. Now the mirror is foggy, scratchy, and totally unuseable.
It's going back to the store today.

This is the best mirror I've found to use in a Chevy Tahoe with a rear facing baby seat. The problem I have is that it shifts EVERY time I drive. This is because it has to go on the headrest of the rear seat and show me the baby in the middle seat. What happens is I adjust it show me a clear view of the baby when we start the trip and again when we get to our destination I adjust it again because it always shifts back toward the front.
In spite of its flaw, it works better than any other mirrors I"ve been able to find and, when properly positioned, it gives a nice wide view.

I read through a few of the reviews and saw people saying they have been told it is not safe. This is untrue. I have been a certified child passenger safety technician for five years and can tell you, there is nothing unsafe about this product. The sides are soft and the mirror is plastic. Plus, it attaches to the tether so in a crash it isn't going to be flying around the car. But, even if it were, a soft, lightweight mirror with plastic in it is not a hazard. There are plenty of hazards in after market products (Bundle Me, Mighty Tight, Snuzzler, etc.) but this is not one of them.Customer Review: THE MOST WONDERFUL THING

I think this is the most wonderful thing ever invented. It has lots of secured clips and when fastened properly seems to be pretty snug, I have no idea how it would ever get "dislodged" in an accident. But, I can see that if it were to get dislodged it could be dangerous just as a diaper bag in the back seat could be. I go nuts when I drive my husband's car and it is not in there. I like knowing that my baby is okay. I don't think of it as taking my eyes off the road, it's just like if I'm checking my rear view mirror. I'm actually going to go buy another one for our second car.Customer Review: Not very sticky ...

When we first put this mirror in our car it was great. I enjoyed being able to see my son's face while riding in the car. We had put it up around January or February and it was fine. When the weather started to get warmer, the sticky part of the velcro just wasn't very sticky. It would get really hot and the velcro would come loose from the mirror and it would continually fall down. It became really annoying having to put the mirror back up all the time. I eventually had to sew the velcro onto the mirror itself. Other than the velcro issue, this is all and all a good mirror.
