Baby Products Reviews of SafeFit Baby In Sight

Customer Review: Lets me see the baby even without a center headrest
Summary: 4 Stars

Our SUV doesn't have a headrest for the center seat, but our child's carseat is centered in the backseat since that is the safest place to put it. I originally bought a Fisher Price mirror that I rigged to the left seat's headrest so I could see baby. That headrest always fell out of place whenever I drove over a bump. Then I bought the SafeFit Baby In Sight headrest and my husband was able to set it up on the left headrest with a decent view of the baby (who is still in the center seat). The mirror has stayed in place no matter how many bumps I've driven over. I gave the mirror four stars instead of five because I'd prefer if it was a little larger so I could have a better view of my child. Currently I can see his face on the side of the mirror and that is good enough for me, though I'd prefer if I had a better view. This mirror isn't great but it is good for vehicles that don't have a center head rest.

Customer Review: A must have item
Summary: 5 Stars

This mirror is great. It is very big and easy to see baby. Not only do I love it, but my baby loves to look at himself. It easily attaches to many seat styles, we have a 4-Runner and a Camry, I also take it when I travel and have used it with no problems in the rental cars. The only minor problem is that you may need to reposition it quite often, to get just the right angle, especially if you have leather seats because it slips a little. (Although this really is not a hassle, I just adjust it when I put baby in seat). The first mirror I tried was a small rearview mirror style that attached with a suction cup; all that did was fall off and the mirror was too small to see baby. There are some mirrors out there that have lights and music, but they didn't get good reviews. I think this mirror is great for the price. I would recommend getting one for all cars that you regularly have the baby in.

Customer Review: Bad batch of foggy mirrors -- but it can be remedied!
Summary: 3 Stars

Even after reading the negative reviews here of mirrors that fogged up and were uncleanable, I decided to order one and try my luck. Sure enough, as soon as I opened the package I discovered a mirror that was so cloudy I couldn't even see my reflection.

I called the manufacturer (Blue Ridge International Products in Freeport, FL) and they told me there was a bad batch of mirrors produced, but they've found and fixed the problem and they'd be happy to send me a replacement at no charge.

They took my name, address, and phone number and said I should have it within 7-10 days. If you run into the same problem, I encourage you to call the company and request a replacement -- be proactive!

3 stars = terrible product initially received which was an inconvenience, but manufacturer's customer service was cheerful, prompt, and obliging.

Customer Review: Great for an on the go mommie
Summary: 5 Stars

I love this mirror. I saw it in the store and was skeptical at first but figured hey why not try it. It's hard to keep turning to check on the baby while I am driving. Anyhow I saw the other cutsey ones and even though they were cute I chose this one because of it's size and the amount of area that it would make easily visible to me. I had no problem installing it in my car. There are a variety of ways that it can be installed. I luckily was going to install it on the headrest of the car. It installed easily and hasn't moved or slipped off. I love the item and all though it doesn't have all the bells and whistles (character design or remote control light attached) like some others I am extremely happy with it. This is definetly one of those baby gadgets that every parent can not only be happy with but will be useful for a long time.

Customer Review: Great... for a few weeks
Summary: 1 Stars

After a month of use in late summer heat, the mirror became so warped and scratched that it was totally unusable.

However, if the reflective surface was of any quality there is still the matter of the velcro/adhesive strip locking mechanism, which only serves as a triggering device for the pendulum-like swipe this mirror will inevitably take at your child. Actually the design of this mirror is quite effective at assuring that the mirror will strike your child at it's maximum velocity. I can only hope this is not a sick joke.

In summary, it's a degenerative reflective surface secured by a poorly designed safety mechanism. It's being marketed as a safety mirror and it is neither safe nor qualifies as a mirror after any time in use. I can only hope other manufacturers have done a better job.
