Baby Products Reviews of Razbaby RaZ-berry Teether, RedCustomer Review: A couple more things Summary: 3 Stars
+
I read reviews for the red/green and blue/green version and was concerned about the two pieces coming apart as a couple of reviewers warned. I was hoping this one would be one solid molded piece, which I believe it is now that I have it in front of me. It says it can be frozen for "EXTRA soothing comfort" which I was hoping for with a teether, so that's nice too.

The packaging recommends "Replace teether after one or two months of use" along with a recommendation to "sterilize before initial use in boiling water for 5 minutes, allow to cool" and instructions for regular inspections for damage.
Another note--neither good or bad--is I was wondering if the butterfly part would be filled with some kind of jelly-like substance or air, but it seems to be solid silicone by the feel of it--plenty pliable but not really soft. The underside of the nipple part is open/hollow.
Customer Review: Two big for 3-month-old Summary: 2 Stars
This product is sturdy and looks to be durable. It looks the way it did as pictured.
The problem is, my three-month-old had teething symptoms (turned out her pediatrician said she isn't cutting teeth, but experiencing what he called "pre-teething" which looks the same and causes some discomfort). Her mouth is too small for most products designed for teething and she doesn't have the motor skills for many of them. This looked to be perfect, since she could use it like her paci.
Even though this is labeled as OK for 3 months plus, it's too big for my daughter--she gagged on it repeatedly and spit it out. When I checked, she wasn't just being fussy--the raspberry part was big enough to reach the far back of her mouth and gag her.
Looks like this would be a good product for an older child, but if you want something for a very young teether, keep searching!
Customer Review: Love the little RaZ! Summary: 5 Stars
Our poor Little One (LO) has had a really rough time with the teething. Lots of pain, drooling, waking in the night, and refusing feedings... and he's only 5 months old. (We've only just begun...) So, we've tried everything that's been suggested to us and divided them into WIN and FAIL categories. The RaZ-berry teether is a definite WIN, and is LO's second favorite teether behind Sophie the Giraffe and one ahead of a washcloth-wrapped ice cube. It's rubbery and squishy, but firm enough to provide resistance on the gums. It's also easy for him to grab and hold with his "paws" as he learns to control the digits. I saw the review about one falling apart; I took note but didn't see anything that would cause this helicopter mom any concern; it looks pretty sturdy. But we'll be sure to examine it before we ever give it to him, like we do most toys. I recommend!
Customer Review: Amazing teether Summary: 5 Stars
I bought this for my 6 month old who is teething horribly. He absolutely loves it. It's flexible and soft, but rugged enough to help sooth the gums. The trick is keeping it away from my 19 month old who is working on her 2 year molars. She loves it just as much as he does. So I may have to spring for another one. Definitely worth the purchase!
***UPDATE 12/19/2010***
Well I bit the bullet and had to purchase more of these awesome teethers. I had to do so to keep my kids from fighting over them and I'm able to keep some in the car and in the house. Four months after my initial purchase the original one is still going strong. It's definitely durable and able to handle the abuse it gets from two teething toddlers!!!! Best investment ever for teething children.
Customer Review: Great for teething Summary: 5 Stars
My daughter has never taken a pacifier, but I bought this for her anyway because it was so different. And sure enough when I tried to put it in her mouth, she spit it right out.
But then she had a horrible fit of teething pain a few days later, and I gave this to her again, and she's loved it ever since. She can actually hold onto the ring, unlike most pacifiers, so she can put it in her mouth herself, take it out, chew on it however she likes, and repeat. The green but is textured and has jagged edges, and she loves to chew on them when she's feeling teething pain. The red bit is bigger than most pacifiers, and I think it's not really meant to sooth... she just gnaws away at it when she's in pain.
Kudos to whoever designed this... it's great!
