Customer Review: Form and function? Very close to perfect, but...

We were looking for a packable stroller that we could stick our daughter in, lug just about anywhere in the world, but with better quality than the average umbrella stroller on the market today. When my wife first saw the Quinny Zapp on another website, she was smitten. After purchasing through Amazon and the obligatory minimal assembly you will have one really cool looking piece of rolling kidlet couture. It's almost guaranteed to have admiring parents running up and asking about your unique take on a stroller. It folds into its own bag and is fairly transportable but is not as compact as we'd hoped. Other downsides to the Quinny are that the back does not recline for comfortable napping and the underside storage basket is miniscule. This storage area won't even hold the storage bag due in part to the reinforced bottom panel of said bag. The positives are pretty big, however. The Zapp is super manuverable over just about anything short of sand and turns on the proverbial dime. It's so smooth, you really have to experience the operation to appreciate it. The other high point is the height of the grips. I'm 5'11" and the handles are at the prefect level for me. If you've ever pushed a stroller that forces you to scrunch down, it can be a nightmare on the back. Again, this is not our primary stroller but what we chose for our traveller. The benefits do outweigh the lows, but I wanted to add this review for a balanced point of view.Customer Review: The zippers gave me blisters!

I purchased this stroller because it was lightweight and compatible with my Maxi-Cosi Cabrio car seat/ carrier. I was excited because I heard so many great things about it. However, I was really disappointed by the quality of the zippers. The seat attaches to the frame via zippers and velcro. You need to zip off the seat and attach the car seat adaptors in order to use it to carry the car seat. This is a pain in itself, but the zippers were really difficult to open and close. The zippers collapsed and were impossible to close. There are zippers around the whole thing! One would think they would use quality zippers. Trying to zip the zipper around the bottom corners gave my husband and I blisters! We literally worked on closing the zipper for over a half an hour. I am returning it unzipped.
I really like the color, the way it maneuvers and its size, but I can't deal with the aggravation of the zippers. The Maxi-Cosi products I ordered recently are different than the models from Europe. I am not sure if it is the same with the Quinny. I can't imagine people singing the praises of this stroller if they used the same zippers.

I just purchased this stroller as a replacement for my $500 Valco Baby Trimode (with additional jump seat that makes it a double.) My 4 year old no longer needs a stroller and my 19 month old baby is becoming more and more mobile every day. I was sick and tired of having a giant, heavy stroller take up my trunk!!!!! So, (as my husband puts it) I traded in the Escalade for the Carmengia. This thing is great!!! It really cruises, folds so small, looks amazing, and my confinement-resistant son loves it!!!!!!! You definitely can't put bags on the handles, so its not a pack mule in the way that many strollers are, but it does have a small basket underneath that holds a few small shopping bags or a little diaper bag and I was able to find a little mesh bag that velcros low down on the stroller back so as not to mess with the balance. It turns and pushes so well that when I have had a few bags in my hand, I was able to maneuver the stroller with ease.
This stroller is perfect of you are looking to ditch all the cumbersome baby gear and travel light~

We have only had our Zapp for a few days but it is AWESOME! Lightweight, folds small and looks fabulous! We have gotten too many complements to count in 3 seperate outings. Yes, it will flip backwards if you put TONS of weight on the back of it, but any umbrella stroller would do the same. It was just fine with my large purse hanging on it. You can't expect this stroller to be everything (i.e. weigh next to nothing but still behave like a full-size) but it sure does come close. It turns on a dime, with only one hand. I easily found a cup-holder/tray to fit it for just 10 bucks. Me and my husband both enjoy handling it, and today we decided to give away our travel system to be replaced with the maxi-cosi infant seat to go with this for our next child. We love it! Oh and I think the previous poster has a faulty stroller as our wheels and the sample in the store both rode without squeeking or rattling! We have the European version of this stroller (i.e. it has only one front wheel (fully articulated), instead of the two; and it has no storage bag under the seat) and it is awesome. I cannot speak for the Americanized version. Ours folds up very compactly, and even fits in its carrier case with the footmuff on. There are no bells or whistles with this stroller, which is why we picked it, so we did add a Euro mesh/net shopping bag to the back, just to hold the rain cover. (We are outside A LOT and I don't like to be caught withought the rain cover.) This light weight item does not make the stroller tip, and it still folds up just fine with the bag on the back like this. My daughter (13 months) loves her Zapp--she can see everything going on around her, even with the rain cover on.
