I only wish that I had purchased this for my son when he was a little bit younger. He is nearly 5 months old now, and his bottom is a bit on the bulky side since we primarily use cloth (pocket) diapers. I don't know how much longer we are going to be able to fit him into the seat.
Some reviewers here have complained that this product does have a strong 'plasticy' smell when it is new. I agree with this, but would characterize the smell as being closer to rubber than plastic. I washed the bebePod with soapy water and let it sit outside in the sun for a few days before letting baby near it. The smell remained, though diminishing in intensity, for several more days afterwards. After about the first week, I noticed no smell at all.
The toy that comes with this is great, and baby loves it. You can also buy the toy separately from Sassy if you search for it on the web.

i had to return this product as soon as i received it. it's a great idea, to have your little one learn how to sit in his own little chair, but the reality is, it doesn't offer great support. it states that it's for children as old as 3 months (i'm not sure if this one stated that it's from birth), as long as they're able to support their heads, as it will teach your baby to sit. the back of this chair is way too low, so even if your 3 month old could hold up his little head, it doesn't offer back support, not to mention, the seating isn't very spacious, and then when you add the tray to it, there is less room for your little one, especially if he has a little belly on him. this is definitely not for slightly bigger babies, had i to choose again, i would go with the bumbo.Customer Review: Love it but it stinks.....literally

I really like the bebepod, my daughter loves to sit in it and the tray is great. It is very sturdy and yet soft and cushy. My two year old son also enjoys trying it out as well. The back goes up high enough to provide plenty of support for a little one. My daughter is 4 months old and she sits very well in it. The only problem is that it smelled really bad when I took it out of the box. It had a very strong plastic odor. I washed it with soap several times and just kept putting it outside in the sunshine and eventually the smell wore off. That was the only problem with it. Unfortunately for me it was a big problem the smell made me feel sick and gave me a headache. My husband said it wasn't that bad so maybe it was me. Anyway, other than that it is great.Customer Review: don't buy

I bought this product looking for an alternative to a high chair (for many reasons). It is not a good product. It looks very nice, "cool" design, BUT the baby cannot stay upright (and my baby can sit unassisted). Her back is very curved, and she is looking at the floor all the time. She is also touching the floor all the time (what a mess!). It is difficult to feed her. Also, my baby felt very trapped and did not enjoy sitting in the bebepod. The only nice thing about this product is the toy that comes with it. A last thing: the plastic/rubber this thing is made off has a horrible smell. It does not go away and all the baby's clothes (and the baby) continue smelling the same way untill washed!!
Don't buy this product. I am returning it.

This product is exactly what it is advertised as. I didn't find anything especially wrong with it, but I don't really like using this chair. My son got this as soon as he turned 3 months old. Almost immediately his legs were too chubby for me to feel comfortable putting the tray or knob on it. (I'm afraid I'm going to pinch him.) I also cloth diaper, so his butt is a bit chunkier, making it even more difficult to get him into this thing.
I have a feeling we would both enjoy a Bumbo more.
That being said, the toy that comes with the tray is pretty cool. I wish it had a stand (other than the tray) so we could use it without the bebe pod or me having to hold it in front of my son.
