Baby Products Reviews of Prince Lionheart Ultimate Wipes WarmerCustomer Review: It does keep the wipes warm Summary: 4 Stars
Like many other users, I also have problems with the lid, it just never closes. I have to use a paper weight just to close the lid.
Other than that, I've had no problems with it. I use Huggies wipes and it dispenses well from the Prince Lionheart Wipe Warmer. I have to add a couple ounces of water into the unit once a week to keep the wipes moist.
I like the little light that comes on to let me know that the warm function is on.
My baby doesn't really care whether her wipes are warm or cold. But it did make difference when she was a newborn and we had to do diaper changes throughout the night. We noticed the regular cold wipes jittered her. The last thing we wanted was for her to be more alert from her half-asleep state. So I plugged in the wipes warmer and it helped! By the time we were done changing her she was almost alseep again. Once she got her milk, she was definitely out.
So I would say I got this wipe warmer more for us than for the baby.
It's been 8 months since we owned ours and we're still using it ... with the paper weight on top of the lid, of course.
Customer Review: Best Wipe Warmer!!! Summary: 5 Stars
I have read the reviews on this product and see that many people have complained about it staining and cracking the wood that they sit the wipe warmer on. Well, before I started using mine I purchased the table top version of the Diaper Depot (cant find online at babiesrus, but I found mine on ebay)....But it works WONDERFUL! I have mine sitting ontop of the diaper depot on top of her dresser/changer combo. I am sure if you purchased any wipe warmer you dont really need to place it on a nice piece of furniture anyway. Some people have also complained about the pad on the inside also...well, I make sure to water mine every 1-2 weeks, and I dont mind doing this because I know my daughter prefers the wipes to be warm instead of ice cold! If you go out of town, just unplug it so you dont have to worry about the pad drying out and burning. Also, you can buy the pads when they start getting old, and I know you have to purchase them from Prince Lionheart,,but who cares...atlest you CAN get them!! Word of advice..BUY THIS WIPE WARMER, and purchase the Diaper Depot as well!!! It will make you and your baby happier in the long run!
Customer Review: Good, but has it's quirks... Summary: 3 Stars
Actually, only two quirks: first, when you pull out the wipes the entire top comes off unless you pull towards the front of the unit... which brings me to the most annoying quirk: second, if you also get this brand's "Diaper Depot" and want to mount it on your changing table, the wipe warmer can only be mounted facing the front of the diaper depot. For most people, they mount the diaper depot on the side of the changing table--right? Well, that means the back of the wipes warmer is facing the changing table--which is INCREDIBLY annoying. Especially when you try to grab a wipe and have to stop to pop the refill cover back on--while the wipe cools off!!! I also find that the lid (covering the wipe pop-up part) doesn't shut well because the wipes often get caught in the latch. Probably because you have to pull them forward--towards the latch--to get them out without entirely disrupting the top of the unit.BUT... we have never had brown wipes and we have not had to be too diligent about refilling the moistener. Our little guy is MUCH more quiet with the warm wipes and despite it's quirks, we're keeping it!@
Customer Review: What a piece of junk Summary: 1 Stars
This product is a complete piece of junk. First off, the pop up lid wouldn't stay closed unless you pressed it just right and it took 5 or 6 tries each time. Finally the latch that holds the pop up lid just broke off. Second, the box claims the moisture pad in the bottom will stay wet for 3 months. No way, I am rewetting it every 7-10 days. And if you forget to rewet the pad, it will dry out and so will the bottom portion of your wipes. Once the pad has dried out you have to soak it in water until it softens up before putting it back in the warmer. You also have to throw out the dried wipes unless you have a sink in the nursery to rewet them as you need them. Lastly, it barely warms the wipes and they cool down immediately. Our warmer is 8 inches from where baby's tush is waiting to be wiped and they cool down before even getting the first swipe on the tush. This product is a total waste of money and will bring you way more frustration than it is worth. Warm the wipe in your hand if it is that important, but frankly, no one warmed any wipes for me when I was a baby and I don't think I am any worse for it.
Customer Review: This is a great invention! Summary: 4 Stars
I love our wipe warmer! I've also seen some of the negative feedback, and I don't have of those problems at all! If you follow the directions with the package, your wipe warmer will be fine! The Ever-Fresh pad at the bottom does dry out, but we just re-wet it each time we replace the wipes. I've never had any wipes get brown or dried out. The wipes stay warm long enough for me to use them - I just make sure to pull out a wipe as I need it. And yes, some wipes are not made for the top part that allows another wipe to pull out after. But all you need to do is buy the wipes that are folded that way. I buy the Especially for Baby wipes in the big box. You can get them at any Babies R Us or Toys R Us. It costs about $10, and lasts us for over a month. Plus, they're nice and soft and have no scent.
The ONLY complaint I might have about the wipe warmer is that when I pull out a wipe, another wipe usually comes out with it unless I use 2 hands to pull. But this is a minor issue. I'd much prefer to have the wipe warmer. This isn't a necessary item, but it's definitely something worthwhile to have!
