Baby Products Reviews of Prince Lionheart Ultimate Wipes WarmerCustomer Review: Love it, only one negative for me Summary: 4 Stars
I have two of these in my house (one for each floor), and I couldn't live w/o them. They keep the wipes a nice temperature--I took the advice of other users and placed this on a coated wire rack (almost like a small, white-coated cookie cooling rack--you typically put these in a cupboard to create shelves to put cans on, etc). I found a tall but tiny latex-coated rack at Target for less than $5 and the warmer fits PERFECTLY on top. I keep them on the changing table (painted wood) and have had no problems w/ heat or water "ruining" my table. And the little shelf looks great (doesn't muck up image of the room if you get the right size) under it. And you don't have to have the pop=up wipes, since you can just as easily open the large lid as you can open the pop-up lid. Great all around. Only negative for me is that the bottom few wipes tend to smell stagnant when you get down to the bottom, no matter how fast you go thru a box of wipes and regardless of how well you wash that little moisture pad at the bottom. I've even tried scented wipes, but those last 10 or so just smell less than rosy. So I toss 'em. Not enough of a negative to keep me from loving this product!
Customer Review: Makes Diapering Comfortable for Baby Summary: 4 Stars
I received this as a baby shower gift, and I have been using it now for 11 months. It has been very useful; it keeps the wipes nice and warm without browning or burning them. The only drawback I have noticed is that sometimes the wipes in the warmer dry out a tiny bit. Still, this does not interfere with my baby's changings. He stays warm and comfortable, and is not startled by cold wipes on his little behind.
Many reviewers on this site commented on difficulties with certain types of wipes. They said you have to use Pampers wipes because Huggies wipes will not pop up. I only use Huggies wipes, but I make sure to buy the wipes that fit in "Pop-up" dispensers. Their other wipes fit in "Reach-in" containers, and each package specifies which type it is. As long as you buy the wipes for the "Pop-up" dispensers (which are available at Target), you should not have any problems.
As a final thought, remember to rinse and soak the pad in the bottom of the warmer every time you fill it. Otherwise, it will heat up and dry out. As long as you follow these simple steps, your Wipes Warmer will keep your baby warm and comfortable.
Customer Review: Really like this product Summary: 5 Stars
We received this wipes warmer as a gift and have really enjoyed it. Obviously, our baby appreciates a warm wipe on his little bottom during diapering time, and the product does keep our wipes warm and moist as promised. It is important to remember to keep water on the pad. We have accidentally let ours dry out before and the wipes do start getting dry and crispy when the water is gone. I recently found the replaceable pads at the Babies R Us store in my area. I had looked for them there just a month or so ago and they didn't carry them. However, I was able to purchase a pair of pads on my last visit, so they must have recently begun carrying them. Certainly if your Babies R Us or other store doesn't carry them, they most likely could upon request. We have also found that only the Pampers wipes work with the pop up feature, but opening the top to get out other types of wipes has not been an inconvenience nor has a large amount of water leaked out due to opening the top. Very good product that makes an excellent gift for an expectant family. (The little caddy that mounts on the side of the changing table and holds this warmer is a must, too!)
Customer Review: There has to be something better out there Summary: 2 Stars
I bought this item because the reviews were very high for this product. When we had my first son, the wipe warmer was wonderful, so when we had our second son, that was the first thing we purchased. However, this product did not stand up to its reviews. Now, it could just be that I ended up with a bad unit, becuase that does happen, even in the best of companies, but I'm still very disappointed. First of all, my wipes do brown, no matter how much water I put into the warmer, or how often I rinse the pad inside, and it doesn't just brown and dry out one or two wipes (that I could live with), just last week, it browned 13 wipes in five days time! Secondly, the cover never stays shut. I use the Pampers wipes, so they pop up nicely, but when I go to pull them out, the whole cover opens up with every wipe and water goes everywhere. It's ruining my changing table with all the moisture. I know this product isn't that expensive, but it truly has been a waste of money for us. My son is seven weeks old and I'm heading out to buy a new wipe warmer, because I just can't take the headaches this one is causing me. I should of thrown it away seven weeks ago!!
Customer Review: Very useful Summary: 4 Stars
I purchased the wipe warmer shortly after bringing my first (and only) baby home from the hospital. She didn't like being cold so the warm wipes were so nice to have. The Especially For Baby wipes seem to work the best in the unit since they pop-up and I don't have to open the main lid everytime I get a wipe. Sometimes I get lucky with pulling out one at a time, one-handed, but most of the time I still have to seperate them and tuck the next one back in a little. I never have a problem with the wipes turning brown because I remember to check the pad once in a while. The pad turns brown way before the wipes do. I keep a jug of water handy to rewet the pad when necessary. Also, I'm pretty sure you only have to change the pad once every three months, not every month... And if you keep it moist, you probably wouldn't have to change it that much. Once mine started drying up so I rinsed it in the sink and it was good to go again. The only thing is that I have to keep a folded washcloth under it since it stays warm, so that it doesn't damage the wood on my daughter's changing station. Over all, I really wouldn't do without my wipe warmer.
