Baby Products Reviews of Prince Lionheart Stove GuardCustomer Review: protect those little fingers and hands Summary: 4 Stars
I really believe in teaching my child right from wrong, this is yours, this is not, things that are dangerous, etc. I feel that society has enabled parents to be lax and not be ever so vigilant as they should be. All that being said, I feel this product falls under the category of necessary child-proofing items. The same as you would not want your child to be electrocuted or fall down the stairs, you certainly don't want them to be burned. Once my child started walking, he would walk up to tables, counters and blindly reach onto them to see what he could "score". So this product prevents him from doing the same with a hot stove. Although I show him it is hot and danger, I really just didn't want to take the chance of being a second too late. The product is fairly easy to install and adjust to stove width. You actually place 3 sticky tapes on either the top or front of range, stick on the 3 clips that hold the guard and let them adhere overnight. A hot oven or stovetop actually helps in the bonding process. Then you just put the center piece on first and slide the 2 end pieces to desired position and the task is done. Easy installation for a little piece of mind. Also, the shield removes for easy cleaning in dishwasher.
Customer Review: Works for its purpose Summary: 4 Stars
This is the only stove guard I could find, and it seems to work pretty well. Just make sure you install it far enough away from the burners so the plastic won't melt if you cook right next to it (learned this the hard way, but reinstalled and is fine now). You can also buy replacement adhesive strips from the company's website if someone leans on it and ruins them (happened to us!). Overall, we are happy with it - just make sure to install it correctly!!
Tips: be sure to clean the area before applying the adhesive. I also pushed on the adhesive for a couple minutes after putting it on. Also: install the clips with the adhesive first, then let it sit overnight before putting the stove guard on. Basically, follow the directions and you shouldn't have any problems. We have had ours up for over a year now.
Customer Review: Best solution I've seen! Summary: 5 Stars
After reading these reviews, I was skeptical, but I didn't see any better options out there so I ordered it. I was SO relieved after recieving it! It works great. Its a little large, but it needs to be to do what its for.
Once my daughter got to be about 22 months she started reaching up towards the stove and when its hot, this is obviously worrisome. There are not a lot of solutions out there and the reviews posted here were not all so good, most complaining of the adhesive. Well, the way my stove is, I have a little space of counter in front of the stove top and after cleaning the surface properly, the guard stuck very well, and that the guard has not moved and it works very well. Its a great solution.
Customer Review: I've had it for years and am here for a new one Summary: 5 Stars
I have had ours for years - probably 9 years. We still have a four-year-old, so I'm not ready to be rid of it yet. But, it finally broke when it fell to the ground yesterday. So, I'm glad to see they still make it, and I'll be ordering a new one. Yes, you have to replace the tape periodically. You can buy double-sided, thick white adhesive tape at Target, Wal-Mart, etc. I've also used adhesive Velcro with success. As others have mentioned, just be sure to clean the stove and the protector first. Our stove is in a high-traffic area, and a child's head is right at that level until they are fairly old. This is just an extra precaution. I would hate to have anything on the front burners without this on.

2. Reviews posted by other people are very helpful.
3. Product arrived on time.
4. I just followed the instructions and everything worked fine.

My son (18months) frequently tries to reach the stove but we feel very secure after installing this stove guard.
