This mixer is good at mixing formula and for adding rice to formula, but we use Dr Brown bottles and it can't get into the bottle enough to mix the formula for me. I have to mix the formula in a second container/bottle and pour it into the bottle. This is no big deal when mixing in rice, but it would be better if the mixer could mix the formula in the bottle and save me a step! For now, we will continue to use it for mixing in rice cereal to be spoon fed/push bottled. However, I think it will work better for mixing hot cocoa later on! :-)Customer Review: It's a crapshoot - some work, some don't

We've owned two of these mixers over the past 6 months. They are indispensable if you formula feed (we're formula feeding twins, which makes it doubly necessary!).
Our first PL mixer was great and lasted 5 months before the motor died. I recently purchased another and, after only 2 days, the mixer stopped turning when immersed in liquid.
So, word to the wise, there's a reason why these are so cheap (actually quite a bit cheaper at BrUs). Buy 3 and maybe one will work for you.

When at the hospital, the pediatrician told us about this item----I thought it must be silly---then I got home and started mixing/shaking formula--and getting a very gassy baby---I went online to see if I could find this--and low and behold! And for $3.99 it was WELL worth the try! and I am soooooooo glad I did! how great in the middle of the night to make sure formula mixed and doesn't get all of the bubbles that cause gas for the baby. Believe it or not there is a correct way to use this item. Yes, it's true, it does leave bubbles, however, if you read the literature about how to prepare formula bottles correctly you will see that you should prepare the bottle and put in the fridge for an hour to settle. I breatfeed/formula feed my 4 1/2 month old son & have never had any problems because I prepare his bottles this way. I feel that shaking is more messy and in the long run who needs another mess....aren't we busy enough. :-)Customer Review: WONDERFUL!!!!

I love this item!!! My daughter is on a special formula that has rice starch in it that makes it SUPER thick. It is impossible to shake it enough to get all of the lumps out and not clog up the nipple. My sister had this (she used regular formula and loved it for getting lumps out also) and got me one. We were on the verge of going back to the old formula and just dealing with the spit up. This product made everything perfect; I just can't say enough about it. Definately recommend it!!!
