Customer Review: Great for a new parent

We intended to breast feed exclusively, so we didn't give much thought to bottles except to register for this set based on the Amazon reviews. Within the first week, our daughter needed to be bottle-fed formula for weight gain problems and jaundice. I opened up this set and it had everything I hadn't known I needed. My daughter loved it, and also didn't have any problem later getting back on the breast.
The one problem with this is that it uses disposable inserts. While this saves time on cleaning, it is a waste of plastic, not to mention an ongoing expense. With a microwave steam sterilizer, sterilizing is not much of a chore, and I would not mind doing more frequently to save on the plastic.
The advent bottles do not use plastic inserts, however, the Playtex nipples are far superior. The slowest Advent nipples have a far faster flow than the Playtex. Perhaps, when my daughter is older and takes a faster flow, I will think about switching.

planning on breastfreeding I bought these a fwe weeks before I gave birth so I would have some bottels in the house just incase I needed them having no intention of using thme till 6months. saddly for medical reason I cant produce milk even with a hosptial pump(he refused to latch on casue nothing ever came out) after janduice in the hosptail and receving bottels there to get his liver functing I came home and countunied to try and get my milk while feeding him with these bottels. I love how easy they are one handed, and with him being what the nurse called a difficult burper he has little gas with these compared to other bottels we'v tried snice coming home. I absoultly love the nipples how wide and firm they are. I havnt been able to find replacement nipples like the ones that come in the gift set and he has maybe 7-8 bottels a day so that I dont have to rewash the 4 we have now muttiple times a day I am ging to get another gift set so I have these nipples.Customer Review: After 3 kids, this is STILL the best nurser system

I have been using this nurser system since my first (now 4) was a newborn. I am so glad to see Playtex coming out with new products as my daughter now uses the Premium nursers. We have had so much success with these bottles.... I love the newer silcone nipple, my daughter seems to latch on to it better (whereas she turned away from the latex flat top nipple that comes on the nursers with the slide up burper - however my sons both took the flat top latex nipples), the dome lids are so much easier to get off of these bottles then the slim caps that come on all the others, and I love love love the clear nurser so that I can see how much formula she has drank.As far as mothers not being able to mix 8 oz of formula (powder) in a bottle... I am just not so sure what they are talking about. I prepare bottles on the go all the time and have never had any issues.
I also love the breast pump adapter!!! Wonderful product Playtex has come out with here... wonderful!

My son was only a week or two early and the only noticable difference was a weak suck. For the first few weeks I had to pump and then give Max a bottle until he could learn how it all worked. I bought these bottles as a cheaper alternative to the Avent bottles recomended by my lactation consultant. Trying to push and keep the air out is rediculous. You spend too much time doing this and your child will be hysterical. He still is unable to completely drain the bottle and his suck is back on track according to the pediatrician. If you are feeding your child breast milk... aka liquid gold... you don't want to waste one drop. My son did not like the nipples at all... they are suppose to be designed to be the most like breast... I've checked with friends and we know no one with nipples like these. We finally bought Avent bottles and he loves them and had no confussion from breast to bottle and back again. It's worth the extra buck or two for the better bottles.
