Baby Products Reviews of Playtex Drop-Ins Original BPA Free Nurser Newborn Starter SetCustomer Review: The only bottles for my babies!!!!! Summary: 5 Stars
Four years ago our son was born. I knew for a fact the I would be breastfeeding but what about bottles. I was completely lost on which brand was the best to use. I did my research and read the reviews. The Playtex disposable set seemed to be the best choice for me and baby. (His Pediatrician also receommened them above the rest to control gas intake.) It was wonderful! These bottles were easy to clean, easy to fill, and a joy to give to my son. I watched the plastic bags deflate as he drank and it felt good to know that he wasn't taking in excessive air. My son rarely had gas and spat up even less than that. I also loved the convenience of the diposable drop-ins and liners. The drop-ins are more convenient but I found that the liners held more liquid. We are expecting our second child in March and without a doubt the Playtex disposable set is the only one for me. Your baby will thank you too!!!
Customer Review: Great bottles! Summary: 5 Stars
I love the playtex system, and have been using it since my daughter was 3 months old. Having different nipples to choose from made finding the right one very easy for me, especially since my daughter rejected many other brands of bottles before these. My one complaint is that you cannot microwave these bottles because the bag can burst, so if you do not have an electric bottle warmer, making a bottle or trying to heat it under tap water in the middle of the night can be a little frustrating. However, the easy clean up is worth it! And to everyone who is worried this system will get too expensive using disposable liners: Almost every grocery store or drug store carries it's own generic brand of bottle liners that work just as well as the Playtex liners, but are a FRACTION of the cost! My sister-in-law and I both use generic brand liners, and have never had any sort of problem with them.
Customer Review: Gotta Give Credit Where Credit is Due Summary: 4 Stars
I bought these bottles after trying the Avent bottles, Dr. Brown's bottles and Johnson's Healthflow. I breastfeed exclusively but when I need to get out, I leave a bottle and my daughter refused everything I tried. I love the Avent pump so of course I was hard pressed to use their bottles--it just seemed logical. Well my daughter had other plans. When I purchased these bottles I laughed to myself and thought, "won't it be funny if she likes these bottles which are SO much less expensive than the others." Well lo and behold, she did and I have to give credit where it is due. I still love the Avent brest pump but I have to say my daughter does not care for their bottles so I guess until I go back to using a bottle, we are going to stay with Playtex. (with all of the Avent and other bottles I now have, I may have to start using a bottle to drink.) Babies know best I guess.
Customer Review: Amazing and convenient... Summary: 5 Stars
I only used these with my first child, now 7 years old. I am pregnant with my 2nd and with certainty, will use these again. Why they are amazing:
1. The liners are so convenient. You use them then throw them away. No bottles to clean (build up of disgusting old milk, especially on those long trips outside in the spring/summer), and you don't need a lot of bottles, I had two of each (2 x 4 oz and 2 x 8 oz bottles).
2. After mixing the formula or using expressed breast milk, simply squeeze the liner from the bottom of the open-ended bottle and all the air is out! This lessens the gas and projectile vomiting.
3. Many options of nipples and they are the only thing you need to wash/rinse/sterilize.
A lot of my friends use Dr. Brown and they rave about it, but after I talk about the Platex system, they are sold.
Customer Review: Great for babies who Breast and Bottle feed Summary: 5 Stars
I used the Playtex nursers in addition to breast feeding my 1st child, and I will do so with my next child, due 9/2002. (though I hope to be able to do MORE breast feeding with this one.) My daughter would ONLY use the orthodontic nipple, which was really the only mild downside of the nursers, because the orthodontic nipples were a little harder to find at the stores near me. The best thing about the nursers is, that during my child's infancy, she only spit up, TWICE, and even then it was not the spit up where you get flooded with milk. LOL It was just a little spit up. This may have also had to do with her getting more breast milk, but I also had to suppliment with formula, and she really never spit that up. You can really get all the air out of those bottles, and I think that makes a huge difference.
