I have no complaints about the Diaper Genie II elite. I have no issues with smell (and my little one puts out some stinkers!). The foot pedal is great when you are up to your elbows in baby poo! I just started my third refill, and my son is 3 months old, so I go through about a refill every month. I tend to wait until the last possible moment to take out the dirty diapers, so I have to pack them in when it gets full. I end up with a four foot long tube of dirty diapers, yuck! It is a little difficult to take out without putting it into another trash bag first.Customer Review: Nice to have.

We have been using our diaper genie for 10 months now. It's been nice to have. Our sons room does not smell. I do think it is well worth paying the extra money for the elite since it's hands free and is very handy when you are holding a baby (plus I don't want to touch the lid). Only downfall is that there is the cost of the refills (they usually last us at least weeks). Also after the baby starts eating solids it does smell for a moment when you open the lid to put in a new diaper. Overall it is a pretty good product and does what it is supposed to.Customer Review: The Genie Is Magical!

I'm an absolute neat freak. I'll admit, I love my baby, but I worry about "diaper smells" lingering around the house. My sister-in-law told me about the Diaper Genie (I think Charlotte had one on Sex and the City?, lol). I bought the thing with high expectations which have been filled; it keeps the stink out!
You still have to change the bags and take the garbage out - it sadly, doesn't do that for you :P.
P.S. - The model I have is Diaper Genie II Elite Pail System, but I can't image other models to be drastically different.

We had the original Diaper Genie for years until the lid finally broke. I decided to replace it with the Genie II elite. Great decision! It is so much easier to be able to step on the pedal and toss the diaper in with one hand whereas before I had to struggle to open the lid and twist - it always took both hands which wasn't easy while dealing with my wriggling son. Plus the elite is much higher so you don't have to bend over to use it which is really nice. We haven't noticed any odor issues so all in all - i would highly recommend this product.Customer Review: It's really just ok.

We got our Genie II Elite just before the baby was born and LOVED it until last week when it broke. It did a great job keeping the odor at bay and it really was easy to use. We've only been using it for 6 months and the hinges inside, where the diaper goes through, broke and now we can't even get diapers in there. I'd get another one, but why spend the $40 on a new one if it's only going to last me another 6 months. Not sure what I'll do in the long run, but for the time being I guess I'll just walk out to the garbage can after each change.
