Baby Products Reviews of Playtex Baby The First Sipster Spill-Proof 7 OZ Cup - 2 Pack: Girl ColorsCustomer Review: Finally a sippy cup that doesn't leak!! Summary: 5 Stars
I have been a babysitter for years, about 10-11 to be exact! I have seen years of sippy cups leak and spill; now that I have my own child, I was dreading this point!! I remembered my family and friends having top clean up leak after spill; and trying so hard to get juice stains out of rugs and pillows! I bought all the sippy cups on the market and she was breastfed so I heard that I would have the hardest time with the switch! First I tried the First Years take and toss cups: they worked great and helped with teething, but when my daughter got a little older, she was able to take the top off!! What a disaster!!! Another downside to those were that they didn't have any handles...they now have since started creating handles for them! I tried the Gerber Sip and Smile, it has the weird shape and the spout like a bottle, really soft. It leaked! My little one was soaked after about 30 minutes with the cup! The next one we tried was the Gerber soft spout two handle sippy cup. This one was the first that didn't leak! I was pleased! It was nice because it also has the measurements on the side of the cup so you know exactly how much you are putting in the cup! The pedritician told me that the sippy cup should be a hard spout, to make the transition from sippy cup to cup easier, plus the soft spouts are just like a bottle and therefore bad on the teeth development. So back to the drawing board! I then tried the Playtex first sipsters and boy was I HAPPY!! It didn't leak! It took some time for my little one to get adjusted to the hard spout, so in the meantime I use the softer spout Gerber one, but she loves these cups now! I was a little bummed that they don't have the measurements on the side, but whatever! I'm just happy they don't leak! Then, the other day someone brought up to me about the whole "BPA-Free" stuff and I freaked out!! I forgot to check about that! Another star for these cups...they are BPA free!! Overall, very happy with these cups!
