My LO had horrible gas issues from the start. We went through avent, ventaire advanced, evenflo glass, evenflo plastic, evenflo comfi, etc. Finally I had enough and decided to try these out. It's made him a new baby and even a better burper! They're very easy to use (the bonus of not having to actually clean the bottle), great for travel, no leaks, and the flow's are perfect for him.
Mixing formula is a little tedious but worth it with liners. Now that LO doesn't drink enough for 2 batches of formula I've started to make individual bottles in advance. Since I don't trust the measurements on the bottle I have to use a glass bottle for the water. When I would heat the bottles I would place a bowl of water in the microwave, heat that, and then let the bottle stand in the bowl for a few minutes and shake (running water never worked). In the beginning it was also tricky to see how much LO was actually eating-- with the 4oz bottles you could unscrew the top but now that the big bottles make the expandable liners it's a bit of a guessing game.
My only con's are that I wish they would still make the regular 8oz liners rather than the expandable but I can't find them anywhere. And it would have been nice to have 6oz bottles instead of 4! I bought 11 4oz bottles since LO was eating 12 times a day. He only stayed with 4oz for about the first 2wks and then increased himself and the bottles were completely useless. :( He's already eating 8oz and he's not 3 months yet (he's a bigger baby). Thankfully we can still use the extra rings and nipples and the smaller bottles work for the baby juice he has to have.
I recommend these to all of my friends that are expecting now.
