I used Avent for my first child with no problem but for my 2nd child they simply did not work. My son was born with slight tongue-tie and had lots of problems with the nipple of Avent bottles. He kept spitting milk out of the side of his mouth and would fuss and stiffen up at night especially from the gas pains. I read about VentAire bottles and thought I'd give them a try! Since we have been feeding him with the VentAire natural bottles he has been a completely different baby. He sleeps better and doesn't stiffen up from gas pain. He hardly spits up at all and burps much easily. He doesn't spit milk out of his mouth anymore. He has the best contented look on his face when I am feeding him with these bottles. They are easy to use, cute and colorful, and have a great nipple for my son. They did leak one time but that was because I didn't put the ring on correctly and haven't leaked since. I highly recommend these bottles; especially if your baby is fussy or gassy!Customer Review: Great in theory.....

My daughter, who is now 8 months old, was using exclusively Dr. Brown's bottles. I picked up one of these at my local superstore, except mine was a "narrow" as opposed to the wide neck. When I received these in the mail I was so excited because the narrow one worked so well but these did not work the same! The flow of these bottles is SO SLOW! I thought it was just because of the nipple so I purchased a larger size nipple and still very little flow. I had to actually unscrew the bottom of the bottle to allow air to flow in while she was drinking and make sure to screw it back tight before we stopped for anything to avoid a huge mess!! I don't know if the vent on mine was defective or if all the wide mouth bottles are like this but these are pretty much useless for me now. I prefer the Dr. Brown's bottles...and now that she's older the AVENT work well for us too. Dr. Browns are a bit harder to clean but they were GREAT when she was first brought home.Customer Review: Needs Medium Flow Nipples

These work great for "bubble free" feeding. We started out using the Evenflo Comfi bottles. The nipple would collapse and my son got VERY bad gas bubbles in his belly. We would have to burp him every couple minutes. We switched to these and they work great. My only complaint is now that he is 3 months old, the slow flow nipples seem to be too slow for him-he is taking over 45 minutes to eat now and gets frustrated because not enough milk is coming out. I tried to switch him to the fast flow and they are too fast, he chokes or winds up spilling half the milk out the sides of his mouth because too much milk comes out at once. They need to have medium flow nipples for this in between stage or make their slow flow just a little faster. I'm thinking of switching to another type of bottle but fear a gassy baby but I don't know what else to do since there isn't a nipple for this bottle with the right flow for him!!Customer Review: Yeah, it leaks if you don't do it just so - but not THAT hard......

I purchased these and used them for my son for approximately 6 mo. (had nursed until he was 6 mo. and stopped bottle feeding @ 12 mo.). I now have twin boys and have used the SAME bottles & SAME nipples & SAME bottom suction thing and the only leaks I have is when I don't put the bottom suction on it correctly. Granted, it does take a bit of looking but quite honestly, it's not THAT hard. The only reason I don't give it 4 or 5 stars is the price and the fact that the nipples have 2 flow stages and the fast flow still doesn't seem fast enough for older or more aggresive sucking babies (my boys are now 6 mo. old). These are a great shape too for when baby holds their own bottles.
We had tried Avent & Playtex Nurser (with the liners) and though the boys didn't like the Avent, the Playtex nurser worked well BUT what a pain to use the liners (even the drop-ins, IMHO). Take it for what it's worth........
Customer Review: Doesn't Leak, Easy to Clean

When I first saw this, I was sure that it would leak, but it just seemed like such an innovative idea that I bought one anyway. The bottle is incredibly easy to clean because both ends can be removed.
I unscrewed the nipple ring and the bottom of the bottle. I was so sure that it would leak if I put anything liquid in it. I filled the bottle full of water and tossed it around on a white sheet to see if it leaked. It didn't, but I still wasn't sure. So, I washed the bottle in hot water. I've noticed that some bottles leak after being washed. Then, I tried the sheet experiment again. It didn't leak. This bottle is 9 months old and still hasn't leaked.
I also liked how these bottles were wide and took similar nipples as the disposable bottles from Playtex, which makes switching back and forth from the Playtex disposable and reusable bottles much easier and causes less nipple confusion.
