I was reading through some of the negative comments and I'm not sure we're reviewing the same cups. Our playtex sippy cups have only hard plastic components so I can't imagine how they would break off in a child's mouth? We also wash our cups every day/every other day after use sothere is no opportunity for mold to form. We once left a sippy cup of milk in the car for a few days and the mold was easy to remove with an old bottle brush, warm water and dish soap.
I love these cups, they never leak on us and I was able to find replacement valves very easy when our dishwasher ate a few of them. We've used all different sorts with our daughter but nothing compares to our playtex cups! Can't recommend them highly enough!!!!
