These spoons are a great design, the guard prevents gagging since baby cannot shove the spoon into their mouth too far, the handles are big and chunky, perfect for baby fingers and the contoured shape aids in getting the food from the bowl to the mouth without too much maneuvering. I also like that the spoons are free of Bisphenol-A and phthalates. One thing that is also worth noting: these spoons are great for children with autism.Customer Review: does what it says

I bought this to prevent gaggging when my baby would lunge forward at the spoon as I tried to feed her. It does indeed work for that purpose. To feed with this spoon is a little awkward due to the size and shape but we wait to see how it works with her when she begins to self feed. Now, it's more of a play toy during mealtimes than an actual feeding utensil.Customer Review: Too clunky

I got these because I thought they would be really good for my one year old that is constantly trying to stick the wrong end of the spoon in her food. Unfortunately they are really big and clunky and she wasn't able to use them at all. Not to mention that if you as a parent try to use them to show your child, they don't fit into any of the baby food jars.Customer Review: Truly unique!

What I like about this spoon is that my child can actually play with this spoon and you do not have to worry about them gagging on it due to the guard. My son would always try to stick the handle of other spoons into his mouth instead of the scoop end--that is not an issue with this "spoon toy" because both ends have a scoop. My 10 month old has been using these spoons since she started solids at 6 months. She self feeds with a loaded spoon. She can easily handle the spoon and it holds food on really well. She often chews on it when she's finished eating but I have no problem with that since it is BPA and phalate free. I highly recommend this product!
