Baby Products Reviews of Philips Avent Digital Baby Monitor with Zero-Interference DECT TechnologyCustomer Review: Crystal clear audio! The audiophile's baby monitor! Summary: 5 Stars
I was a little apprehensive about the price tag, but this thing really does work as described. It is well worth the $200 bucks. We had a cheap FisherPrice baby monitor that was unusable because of the static. This one is completely quiet unless the baby is making noise, and then it is crystal clear with no background hiss or static. You can adjust the microphone sensitivity, but the default setting was perfect for us, and allows you to hear small sounds clearly. I also like the room temperature monitoring function.
Customer Review: Wonderful product Summary: 5 Stars
We enjoy this baby monitor very much, as it picks up on sounds very well. The quality of sound is very good. We put it a little further away from the baby, but the device still picks up on her crying very well. We also love the fact that it chooses it's own frequency, so that you know only you can hear your baby, no neighbors can listen in. The night light is a bit weak and the price is a bit high. Nevertheless, it does what it's supposed to do very well and we consider it a wonderful product, with great technology.
Customer Review: Amazing! Summary: 5 Stars
My elderly mom has home health care workers who stay with her every night. They went through 2 years of having to listen to all kinds of static and I felt terrible for them. Although the price on this is high, it is WELL WORTH the cost to assure a good night's sleep. When my mom calls them her voice is crystal clear. My mother is paranoid (dementia) that the monitor will quit working and they won't hear her so i am, today, buying a SECOND one so there can be two hooked up in the same room to assure her.
Customer Review: NOT WORTH THE MONEY Summary: 2 Stars
This monitor has some of the coolest features that could EVER be on a baby monitor. . .telling you the temp in your baby's room, 2 way, being able to control sound and music from your unit to your baby's unit, etc. BUT IF YOU CANT HEAR WHAT YOUR BABY IS DOING, HOW CAN YOU KNOW WHAT YOU NEED TO CONTROL?? The parent unit, no matter what you change, is so quiet that you can BARELY hear your child. That made this baby monitor not worth the money, fix that one problem, and it would be worth every penny!
Customer Review: can't hear it -- bad product Summary: 1 Stars
We bought this because of the interference in our neighborhood and our neighbors sometimes heard our baby instead of theirs, but we returned it because if you are 8 feet away from the monitor you will lucky to hear your baby cry. Also, you don't even hear that until your baby is in full cry mode, so why even have the monitor!
The other features -- temperature monitoring, auto-off from the receiver, and 2 way speaking are great, but what's the point if the main function is defective?
