I am glad that I bought this monitor. We have a lot of technology in our house and we tried 3 different monitors before this one and the interference was anoying. It is true that there is absolutely no interference and that is what I was looking for. The only reason I did not give it 5 stars is because I think the volume could be a lot louder. With some of the other monitors I've tried, you could turn it up so loud that I could hear my baby breathing if I wanted to. I don't always want it that loud, but I want the option so I can tell what is going on in her room without having to go in to check it out. And it is true about the battery life being only 8 hours, but I feel that these are minor complaints and I am happy with my purchase. Pros
- No annoying hiss
- Clear audio transmission
- 1.9 GHz DECT 6.0 Technology won't interfere with Wi-Fi or other DECT 6.0 phones, and it's encrypted so your neighbors don't overhear you (or vice-versa)
- "Sensitivity" setting allows parents to get a little shut-eye by not transmitting every little peep the baby makes. When the baby cries you still hear it at full volume, but the quiet stuff doesn't get transmitted at all. There are 5 levels to choose from.
- Shows temperature of the baby's room on both units.
Cons
- Expensive, but performs as advertised.
- Only one parent unit, though it is lightweight and has both a lanyard to hang around your neck or belt-clip to easily take it around the house with you.

I love this monitor. My last one, a Sony, kept making clicking noises, as well as channel changing noises (similar to the ones you hear from a cordless phone). It was quite annoying and we couldn't take it anymore. The Philips is perfect. You don't hear a thing, unless our baby made a sound. In addition, you can also push a button to "talk" back (like a walkie-talkie) and or turn on the starry night lights (though I don't use this feature).
One problem, which other reviewers have also mentioned, is that the maximum volume on this device, is not that loud. You really need to watch for the lights if you're doing something very loud and can't hear the sound. We can live with this though, as the sound is loud enough on a normal environment (with tv on, etc).
Customer Review: Great features, terrible battery life

Our daughter is now over 9 months old so we have used this for a bit. We love the features on this (2 way walkie talkie, temperature reading and temperature alarms if gets too cold or hot). That said, the battery life is TERRIBLE and has gotten worse. Unless you can keep the parent unit in its charger count on very little time available and be VERY CAUTIOUS as after the warning beeps of low battery life, it just turns off. It seems the warnings are far fewer lately.
For the price, I would search some more or just spend even more to get bettery battery life with the features OR just get a good unit without the features and a seperate temperature notification system.

This monitor is wonderful! We had a less expensive monitor with our first child, but after the interference waking up our children multiple times, we purchased this Philips monitor. We couldn't be happier with it!
We NEVER have interference with other electronic devices. It has a lot of great features, but the one we use the most is the temperature indicator. Our older home presents a problem with regulating temperature in the children's bedrooms, but now we can see what the temperature is in their rooms at any time. We even had our furnace fail in the middle of the night and the monitor alarmed and woke us because the temperature was dropping too low!
Worth every penny!
