Customer Review: Wow... this really works!
Summary: 5 Stars

I have had 3 types of monitors and this is by far the best!! I have a 22 month old and 6 month old twins and before I got this monitor, we had a terrible time with reception and interference. The monitors interfered with each other as well as with appliances nearby. We figured we would give this a try and boy, it really works!

The first night we had this monitor, I went in to check on the girls and make sure it was working 3 times because it was sooooo quiet. We even have a white noise maker in thier room and the monitor doesn't pick that up, it only broadcasts when one of the girls actually makes a noise. So, we finally have some peace from the relentless humming, beeping, and cracking of our monitors. We may just buy a 2nd one for my son's room.

As for the features, the intercom has been wonderful as well as the temperature guage but we don't use the lullabies or the light.

Fantastic product and is the first baby monitor to actually deliver what it promised.

Customer Review: Practically no volume, no battery life!
Summary: 2 Stars

While I still use this monitor, I only use it as a supplement to my video and cheap Greco monitor. When I first got it, I returned it because you couldn't hear anything, not even the baby crying!! The second one works better, you can hear him crying if there is NO other noise in the room. This is the the highest sensitivity. I kept it because our house has a problem regulating temperature in the rooms, so I liked the fact that I can monitor the temperature in his room at all times. Otherwise, it's not worth the $200.
Also, the battery life is a joke. It maybe lasts 4 hours, MAX, off of the cradle. I don't really ever take it off the cradle anymore, and just use our cheap $35 graco monitor when I'm walking around the house. That monitor will last days with the batteries without having to replace them, while the Philips is basically useless unless on the cradle. (It takes a LONG time to recharge). Honestly, what's the use of a monitor if you can't take it around the house with you?

Customer Review: Zero effort - works perfectly
Summary: 5 Stars

This little device works well, and just as expected. We were using the cheaper fisher price monitors, until we had a hard time hearing our baby due to air conditioning sounds, etc. Although this monitor is a bit pricey, it will pay for itself in the extra sleep you get, because you will not be woken up 20 times per night every time your baby sighs, or wiggles, like you would with other monitors. It has a settable sensitivity level, so that you only hear when your baby is really making some sounds. It works incredibly well, and has a fantastic range. There is *no* interference.

The one feature that seems useless at first, is the temperature. However, I can tell you that it's actually quite useful. We noticed our baby slept much much better (through the night completely at 6wks!) when we kept it cooler in his room (68 actually).

In the end - worth every single penny.

Customer Review: best monitor
Summary: 5 Stars

We've been through a few monitors in the 20-$60 range and I wish we just had this one to start! My daughter is now 2 and I especially love the walkie-talkie feature. The last review said they had trouble with the sound but I actually have to turn ours down some nights so I'm not hearing every little noise. I do think you have to have the monitor near the crib though. We have WiFi and a 900 mghz phone and haven't had any interference from our electronics or our neighbors phone. We haven't used the lullaby feature since our daughter can turn her own music on if she wants (2 years old). I'm not always sure the temperature reading is 100% accurate, but I'd say it is within a few degrees. It's given me a clue to why our daughter is restless some nights when I see her room has gotten to warm. It is pricy, but so far it's been the most hassle free monitor we've had.

Customer Review: The only one we tried that did what it said
Summary: 5 Stars

We tried many others but this was the only one that truly performed as advertised.
My sister talked to a friend who had a house where the master suite was on the other side of the house from the children't rooms and recommended this unit.
Sound quality is excellent, NO STATIC
Sensitivity is excellent - we could hear breathing
You can control the monitor from the portable monitor. You don't have to enter the children's room
The portable monitor is a godsend. We have a rambling ranch house and most of the other units could not get half way through the house. This one did get through most of the house and was clear
Being able to talk to the other end on it's speaker is also a great feature

I'ts expensive but if you truly want a monitor that works this is the one.
